I was going to give them a chance. First they announce that Portal 2 wins best multiplayer, and im like, Huh? its only a short 2 player co-op, but whatever. It was good. Then came the best graphics award and the nominations were awful. Its like they eliminated all competition just to give it to Uncharted. (no Witcher 2? NO BF3? No Gears 3?)
Then the best shooter award left me with absolutely no respect for these awards. They gave best shooter to Cod, over BF3, Gears 3, AND Rage. IMO BF3 & Gears should have been the only nominees worth giving the award. I mean, I like MW3, but with no new game mechanics, no graphical update, no audio update, and 2 new game modes and a few guns, How the F*** did it win?
I rest my case. VGA's are a complete joke. The only award I could agree with was GOTY, and Skyrim was my 2nd choice.

The only real competition for U3 , with a good chance of actually beating it out, would have come from BF3(PC) and Witcher 2, but to be fair, those games were either on PC or were best on PC. I guess it would be nice if there were two awards given out to to the best graphics on consoles and then to the best graphics on PC, But that most likely isnt going to happen any time soon, since PC gaming and all the technical jargon with it + the different hardware configurations, which makes it difficult, isn't popular among the main stream. And the thing, that you have to remember, is that with PC, a large percentage of PC gamers, just don't have the advanced hardware to run a graphically heavy game at its max settings. So to a lot of pc gamers, those games weren't the graphics king, that they are capable of becoming when on MAX settings. Where as, Every body across the board who bought Uncharted 3 on consoles received the undisputed console graphics king champ. Anyway, The VGS's best graphics and best PS3 game awards were some of the very few awards that were actually given to the correct winners IMO. The bottom line is that Uncharted 3 IS at the pinnacle of console graphics. No console game can compare in terms of beauty, design, and awe inspiring physic driven moments. Uncharted 3 defied all logic of what you thought was possible on consoles. P.s And even some top PC games with max settings aren't , like say a gen ahead, like some PC elitests act like. Graphics arent ALL about higher resolutions and better textures. Graphics are about more then that. And Uncharted 3 had more then that. Its about as complete a beautiful package as there is, with great art and design - to match its technical prowess, which all in all put it at the top IMO.
