Its Black and white scheme and Auto aim sequences are both turn offs for me. besides that the game looks great.

The black and white isnt too bad but the whole automated gameplay parts. Ya, big turn off.
Like you said though, it looks great otherwise. Im ready for that splitscreen co-op though.
Second video is amazing. I previously wasn't to excited for this game. That definitely helped get me amped.
Those are really my only concerns for this game. Jeff Keighly likened the black & white issue to the complaints of Saboteur. I notice it's not in effect during your entire playtime, but while your hidden--which will probably be a lot of the time, given the nature of the game. Still, shouldn't be a huge issue for me since it's seamless. What's more concerning is 'mark and execute'. Hopefully there's limit so that it can't be spammed. Other than that, it was my favorite showing at X10 and will def. pick it up on launch day (if I have the money!). 'Last known position' and the cinematic presentation are cool as well.
[QUOTE="murat8"]does the game have splitscreen co op?salxisYes
Thank you Ubi! I don't have XBL Gold and I don't want to renew it for one game that doesn't have competitive multiplayer.
the pc is the way to go it will look passable on 360 and it will be amazing on pc.
Did you even watch the video? it was running on the xbox and it looked excellent! Then imagine the PC version ;) why? to keep people in thier comfort zone?[QUOTE="tastetheacidmil"][QUOTE="Sollet"] Then imagine the PC version ;)Solletwhy? to keep people in thier comfort zone? Oh you don't have a PC to crank it up to max? i dont bother with pc, but i guess you have a high end pc? like the majority of a certain group on here
Looks great; they've definately pumped up the production values. I wish they'd kept old Sam though; i'm not a fan of the new version. Plus, what's with him suddenly murdering everyone he comes across? You used to have to sneak past people or incapacitate them and get the job done before they woke up, that was the whole point of the game. Why bother with stealth if you're just going to kill everyone? Doctor-McNinja:question: You could pretty much kill everyone in older SC. There were certain mission in which casualities were forbidden, but most of the game you were able to kill, kill and kill.
Actually, the relase date was confirmed (13.04.2010). Something that, to my understanding, hasn't happened with GT5.lol and they say gt5 took long to make....this game wont come out this year.....confirmed

I agree. I wish there was more hype for this game on Gamespot though. I'm really hyped though, it looks great.

ME2 ? Bioshock 2? Crysis?
Very impressive lighting engine and animations and it looks like it has some interesting gameplay mechanics. The video reminds me of the Bourne Identity....a bit cliched, but I'm guessing they have enough originality stowed to make it compelling.Brownesque
yeah they are making this gameinto abourne wannabe which pisses me off. splinter cell is not meant to be like that

Agreed, and I also do not particularly like how they display your objective all over the place like a giant white neon sign. For example, when you are required to climb a pipe you will see CLIMB plastered on the side of the wall by the pipe. This is worse than the breadcrumb trail in Fable 2, if you ask me. Talk about holding your hand, lol. Not to mention ruining the immersion factor.
At any rate, the game looks good aside from those issues. I'll still be picking it up on day one. I do think these decisions will come back to bite them on the rear end, though.

In a previous video, the dev mentions that you have to earn one mark by performing a stealth take-down. So if there's three guys in a room. One is standing under a pipe. One in the middle of the room. The other in a corner. You want to even the odds a little bit.
When going into the room, you don't have the ability to execute yet. But you can mark the one guy in the corner. Crawl in from the drop-ceiling onto the pipe, drop down on one guy, earning you one execution, which you automatically perform on the guy you marked previously.
That leaves the guy in the middle. By that time, it's a bit more even.
You can't spam executions on all 3 guys ahead of time. You have to earn the executions.
Ladies and gentlemen, girls and boys, step right up and witness the complete abortion of the Splinter Cell series!
That's right folks, if you thought Double Agent was as enormous a piece of **** as Ubisoft could possibly squeeze from betwixt its buttocks, think again! Now they're bring us Conviction, yet another mentally deficient shooter, complete with crashing chandeliers, second-to-second head shots, and huge explosions!
NEW FEATURES:
Wall Text: For those who are too stupid to know what they're doing or why, Ubisoft now displays your mission objectives on the sides of buildings with a giant ****ing projector! Oh happy day, everyone! You'll never have to think again!
Automatic Shooting: Are you tired of actually playing your games? If so, then worry no more! Now you can tag people with little red dots and then spin around in a circle whilst shooting them automatically! Wow, it's so innovative!
Hardcore Torture: No longer able to write dialogue that makes Fisher seem badass, Ubisoft shows scenes of him smashing people's nuts, and stabbing their hands into tree trunks! Yay, highly realistic automated torture; just what I always wanted!
Silhouette Man: Don't worry about your position in the environment; Ubisoft will show you a little semi-invisible man, so you don't ever have to worry about whether or not enemies can see you. Because that might be suspenseful or something, and we just can't have that.
--- --- ---
Forget Chaos Theory; who wants to think whilst playing a video game? Drop your pants, drop your brain, drop your $60, and buy Splinter Cell: Conviction as soon as you possibly can!
Yeah, this game gets me excited like no other Splinter Cell has. I still remain skeptical, however. Ubi is known for showing games that look awesome... then you play them.
