Why do some poeple have to post about a game they do not like? just do not buy it. I mean really. I am sure we all have games we do not like.

If I didn't own a 360, I might not like Splinter Cell either...but I guess I'm just lucky that I didn't make the mistake of buying a console that can't deliver.

I disagree. Personally, I couldn't stand SC games until DA, Which was, IMO , a huge improvement for the series. At least in the SP.

I think Halo is one of those franchise that is above over rated. Never have I played a game that has one of the most suckiest single player campaign as bad as hslo, and so, let the flaming begin.......

I've had no problem at all with the Splinter Cell series. In fact I like it very much and can't wait to see what they do with SC5.

I partly agree, yet I disagree. I lpayed most of the single player game on the xbox, then recently, I bought the PC version. The moment the game got to the flood, the moment the game started to suck. Then I played alittle bit of halo 2 since I don't have the game, and found that to be one of the most over rated single player mode as well. I just see why people like it so much.....

I enjoyed the first one. The flood was not original, but you had to give them props for changing the gameplay. Fighting only covenant would have gotten really boring. Yes, the flood could have been much better. But I had a decent time. Although I do agree, Halo 2's campaign sucked so badly.

Actually, yes, that was one of the things I liked about halo. To have two forces fighting each other was somehing original since I haven't seen something like that. I usually set back and let the covenant and the floods duke it out. But the floods was very annoying......too annoying to be technical. Those mini floods thingy's were atrociously annoying, the suicidal floods were annoying...........other then that, the other flooods I didn't care about. Using the floods to take care of my covenant problem though was good at times. Other then that, there was absolutely nothing I liked about the game...welll, it's multiplayer was rewarding though...

Yea, like I said. It is very overrated. But I still enjoyed the game. It's no Half Life, thats for sure.

Neither of them are clones. Just because they are in the same genre, doesn't make them a clone.
Last time I checked, Gran Turismo didn't feature cosmetic damage, online play, vast car customization, complete control over tweaking your car, etc.

Splinter Cell isn't even close to MGS. SC is way more realistic and relies on being stealth alot more. MGS is more action filled and story-driven.

I never really played a splinter cell game (bought one), but I played the multiplayer demo of SCDA, and I was amazed at how fun it actually was. Never thought a multiplayer sneaking game would really work, but it did.

Yeah, I could see the similarities.......Go off track much?

You should try this: In a topic about Splinter Cell why not discuss..............Splinter Cell, maybe?

This is the real reason you don't like it. I think you are pissed because the 360 version is better than the PS3 version. At least be honest about it.:P

I'll admit though, Double Agent sucked compared to all of the other Splinter Cell games. That's because Ubi Shanghai did it, not Ubi Montreal who created the series. It seems like they started alternating between titles which isn't a good idea because the quality is inconsistent.

It's like Call of Duty 3, which wasn't done by Infinity Ward and wasn't was good as the previous versions. Now Infinity ward is doing COD 4 and that looks AMAZING.

And I would say that SP:Chaos Theory was better than Pandora Tomorrow. Much better.

this is a problem with all franchises done by large publishers. The development teams get pushed to do a new game every year to keep the cash rolling in..It's unfortunate, but that's the business and it's only going to get worse.

There are many people out there that like SC more than MGS. After I played SC I never picked up another MGS title. The online was incredible and I was happy that I would not have to wade through some convoluted pseudo philosophical lecture on the futility of war and the uselessness of existence. Even the devs don't take the game seriously anymore, i.e. Banana camouflauge.

Erm... how many spin off's, remakes and re-releases of games have there been in series like Zelda, Mario, Madden, Metal Gear, and, my personal favourite, Final Fantasy?

That's right - a hell o fa lot more than Splinter Cell. Splinter Cell is a revered series, developed by some of the best in the business and always receiving consistently high scores.

I see by your sig you are a MGS fan. Tell you what, play that - because it is not in competition with Splinter Cell. They may be the same genre, but they do not play like one another at all.

Splinter Cell stories are consistently the best in gaming. Not only have they won awards, but there are books, fan-fiction and more about Splinter Cell, Third Echelon and more. Tom Clancy is a major contributor.

Splinter Cell is nowhere near a bad franchise. It is up there with the best gaming has to offer, and as a series whole, is some of the best and most enjoyable gaming available.

The fact you called SC a clone of Metal Gear Solid leads to think you haven't even played the SC franchise. I am an owner and fan of both, and the only think they have in common is that they are stealth genre games. Do not debate me on this, and spare yourself the humiliation.

I think people take these game things too seriously, I still enjoy Splinter Cell, well, think of it this way, at least, unlike movies, even if the interaction doesn't change much, there is still SOME, even if it's OLD, movies have NONE, kah blah.

You can't compare SC to MGS, SC is an actual espionage game, whereas MGS is a story led cutscenefest where you hide in cardboard boxes:|
