These HD collections are starting to sound like a cash grab to me.This is great for people who never played them though.
Does that mean they will run at 60FPS at 1080p? Shouldn't be to hard, especially considering how old they are.
Splinter Cell Belongs to Ubisoft. Jak and Daxter belongs to Sony. There probably will be a remastered collection one day, but typically they are released strategically...like if a new version of Jak were going to come out soon.So they can do Splinter Cell, but not Jak and Daxter? :?

I like how everyone is praising these "new play resolution" games, while people bashed the "new play control" line of Wii games a few years ago, although those games actually added something that mattered (gameplay changes) while these add, what?
Has Ubi said why they are doing all these remakes? Is this a result of this expensive generation that now they are flooding us with old titles in a slightly nicer looking package?
Someone punch me in the face.Remasteration? They've been in HD on PC for how long now?
The__Havoc
Seriously , could hermits be any more boring?
Yes it is remastered. It was SD on ps2 and xbox now it's hd.
are they using the xbox graphics in HD or the ps2 graphics in HD?
Might as well use the xbox graphics.

Oh I know that, but Sony decided to think about a splinter cell trilogy first, not a j&d remake, which aggravates me.
*shakes head* I called it when Gow hd remaster came out. Companies were gonna start doing quick cash ins instead of making new ips by rereleasing their old games.
I see what you mean. I hope this doesn't become a trend in the game industry :(*shakes head* I called it when Gow hd remaster came out. Companies were gonna start doing quick cash ins instead of making new ips by rereleasing their old games.

so the team ico collection is a "quick cash in"? No. these collections are good for everyone. It's good for the people who missed out on the ps2's games (myself included) and we get to see them In HD, stable and better higher framrates, (SOTC) ect.
And some people buy them just to play them with better graphics. I would even if I had played them before, seeing how they're pretty cheap anyways.

Are they fixing the controls in SoTC? I liked the idea of the game but hated those controls.
if the online multiplayer is intact this will be full of WIN! BEst multiplayer ever! Until rogue agent ruined itRemasteration? They've been in HD on PC for how long now?

they are fixing subtle controls like getting on the horse and other small control issues.

SONY has nothing to do with Splinter Cell or this remaster.....this is entirely Ubisoft's doing. Probably has to do with them trying to sell Conviction to the PS3'ers.
I remember reading that PoP collection was supposed to come out March 2011 and SC collection in November. I suppose the release dates have just been reversed.
Wow. They've certainly have found an new source of revenue with these HD remakes.
They won't be getting my money.
heretrix
good because no one's forcing you. For those who want em' though they're great.

Mine neither. Unless of course it's a collection that I want to buy just like, say, any other game...How can anyone play games that don't get a 9 or better, huh? I thought Conviction was great, sort of like GS' review, but to each their own.Its not a new game but it beats getting Conviction :P

I like GoW collection, recieved it as a gift. But whatI don't like here is the possibility of doing away with BC for future consoles. Why would any company allow BC if gamers will re buy the games? Well, MS are greedy, so somehow this has to be their fault, not Sony's/sarcasmcainetao11I agree. Especially about it being Microsofts fault . It's very worrying.

You are correct. Nobody's forcing me. I own the PC version of all 3 of those games. Chaos Theory is just fine it still looks great on the PC. As for the first 2, I haven't played them in awhile but I'm sure I can play them in at least 720p.I can wait for the new Jade Raymond Splinter Cell, thank you.
I agree. Especially about it being Microsofts fault . It's very worrying. Yeah money talks, bro. And Sony is just as after a buck as any, and this version of playing last gen games proves it. I have all the SC games for my 360, so no, HD isn't going to get more of my money.
I like GoW collection, recieved it as a gift. I don't even want this collection... But I want others. I bought the god of war collection and the sly collection. Still pulling for a jak collection and kingdom hearts collection.
And I absolutely can't wait for the Team ico collection. A MGS and FF collection would be nice as well. In fact I didn't even own a ps2, so I missed out on alot of games last gen. I want to play everything I listed.
But again, that's good for you.
Thats nice
WHERES JAK AND DAXTER TRILOGY AND RATCHET&CLANK TRILOGY???? FFS SONY
:)

Funny how defensive some get about being milked, when they sometimes it's thrown around so freely the other way. I would rather Live be free, and much rather have BC in my console then buy HD remakes, but money is the bottom line here.Conviction was awesome.I couldn't even finish Conviction. :P

There's a lot of trial and error, but it isn't any harder than the sequels. oh dang, harder than Rainbow six?No. But the games play differently.
I never played Splinter Cell but wasn't first one like, really difficult?funsohng
