[QUOTE="heretrix"]No. But the games play differently. I meant Vegas, not the crazy hard old ones.Same deal. Splinter Cell really isn't a hard game to play, it just takes patience. You have to strike at the right moments.[QUOTE="funsohng"] oh dang, harder than Rainbow six?funsohng
And shoot out a lot of lights.
Yeah, I find it funny when someone makes a full remake of a game like Goldeneye it get's bashed so much but they can release the same game but upscale it to 1080p and everyone is fine with that. These HD collections are starting to sound like a cash grab to me.This is great for people who never played them though.

[QUOTE="heretrix"]You are correct. Nobody's forcing me. I own the PC version of all 3 of those games. Chaos Theory is just fine it still looks great on the PC. As for the first 2, I haven't played them in awhile but I'm sure I can play them in at least 720p.[QUOTE="theuncharted34"]
good because no one's forcing you. For those who want em' though they're great.
cainetao11
I can wait for the new Jade Raymond Splinter Cell, thank you.
Funny how defensive some get about being milked, when they sometimes it's thrown around so freely the other way. I would rather Live be free, and much rather have BC in my console then buy HD remakes, but money is the bottom line here.Oh, don't even get me started about the live Hypocrisy. Many of those same people won't hesitate to buy the same game, over and over. Why are people so negative about these games? Who cares? let them make em and be done with it...if people buy them, they will keep making them simple as that. Obviously people want them since they keep announcing 1 after the other. Its a great deal for people who have never played them before and want to play an ugpraded version of it. People will find any way to bash a company for the dumbest reasons. For people who say "Id rather them work on new IPs". New flash, they are! They give these projects to a small section of their company and they still work on NEW STUFF.
I won't buy a single product from Ubisoft anymore. They are a true disgrace with their DRM and crappier than crappy sequels.
I am totally with the "buy and let buy" philosophy. the thing that bothers me about them is if they are very profitable, then BC will be a thing of the past. I personally enjoy BC in my PS3 but know Sony is probably done with it if they can milk money from the consumer on re issues. Why are people so negative about these games? Yea but that doesnt stop you from playing your BC games. It actually makes the prices of your "used" PS2 games lower in the long run, since people will be buying these upgrades titles, so the supply and demand will be low. In any case, people like me who had a launch PS3 and had it break, so now I dont have a BC system, its one of those things where its nice to have old games that I can play on my PS3.

I am playing MGS2 right now on my BC PS3. It looks great to me and still plays great. And a copy is about $5. That is my complaint about the success of this trend. No more BC. It just wouldn't make financial sense.
Ok. People, we have someone here that wants Squeenix to make MORE remakes.[QUOTE="mD-"]
The wrong developers are doing this... I'm looking at you SE. I want my damn FFX HD NOW.
heretrix
Get a DS.
I want FFX in HD as it's one of the most memorable RPGs ever and one of the first games to show what the PS2 is capable of. Why the hell would you say get a DS when you know that those those FFs were SNES remakes. I'm not asking for a remake I'm for FFX in HD. That's not too much to ask for considering that FFX is a better game than FFXIIIlol you people are getting robbed. So glad PC has good PS2 and Gamecube emulators that run games in HD.
and no emulation is not illegal if you own the actual games disk and use programs to extract its content onto your PCthen use an emulator to run it. Enjoying the Resident Evil remake from gamecube at 1680x1050 with 4xAA...yes I own a Gamecube with resident evil also so don't accuse me of anything
MIYAMOTOnext007
Lets be honest here, noone does that.
But thats besides the point...Some people dont wanna sit and play their games on the PC. I dont want to use a 3rd party controller, I dont want to use my 22" monitor and I dont wanna go through the trouble of EMULATING the game. Id rather just pay the money for a nice HD port onto my PS3. Why you mad?

oh is it against the terms of use to post pics of legal gamecube games running on a PC? When the files came from the actual GC optical discs which I bought and own? if that is infact against the rules herethen I will take the pics down :(

Thank you for proving my point. Both of you are still saying to me "Well use your 360 controller". This is about PS3 remakes in HD, obviously I dont have a 360 controller. So I should go out and buy a 360 controller, and old non HD remakes and port them to my PC? Why when I can just purchase them for my exact system? It seems like all the people who are against PS3 HD remakes are 360 owners. You dont like it then go away? It doesnt affect you one bit. Its not like im buying ALL of these remakes but its a nice option to have. You have your 46" Bravia hooked up to it? Nice, I know it can be done but I have my PS3 and my computer in seperate rooms. Thats not something I want to do...but having these options for a gamer is awesome.
Please dont mention milking. We can have an entire thread about how many Mario/zelda games there are (even the same ones on different formats) for all your milking pleasure. But I dont care...they can put out an expansion pack called ODST for all I care, why do I care?? I dont...it gives 360 gamers an option to buy it if they want to feed their craving for a new Halo while they wait for Reach.
Why are people so agaisnt this? Its a business...the business is to make money and if Sony or Nintendo or MS can reproduce old games for profit let it be. If you owned YOUR OWN COMPANY and someone said, hey you can maximize profit by doing so and so, you'd jump on it. So look at it from ALL standpoints and not just your own. Just because something doesnt fit your needs, it doesnt mean it doesnt fit someone elses needs/wants.

Of that I am fully aware. They just won't be getting mine. I would prefer new IP or even a sequel, rather than a game that was already released not even 10 years ago in some cases. Also PS3 controllers work on the PC as well. It's a bit more.....complicated, without an adapter.

The thing is, they dont stop their NEW IP work just to work on Splinter Cell iN HD. They can do both at the same time you know. People assume they stop working on any new IP's when they remake old games. They have departments within their company that work on different projects.

I understand how game development works.Again, it's something I have no interest in. I don't think it's a terrible idea, it just doesn't sit well with me after they removed BC from the console. Some people have already bought those games and they can't play them anymore unless they have a PS2. To play it again they would have to pay for a game they already bought.
