It seems to me that Square wants the FFXIII universe to be huge like the FFVII universe. They just now have the money and the manpower to do it all at once instead of over a large period of time.

A spin off = an expansion of a great gaming universe. Look how much more of the world of FFVII we know because of games. Its awesome. Its pretty much like all of the Metal Gear Solid games, how all of the stories mesh somehow. MGS is much more linear and each game has much more to do with one another, but still the same concept applies.

FFVII was only the start and every "spin-off" has expanded the world of it without changing a thing.

Excellent! That's the version I was more excited for.

As much as it is cool to see a FF13 demo coming with the bundle, I would have rather had an FF Versus demo. I mean the main character in FF Versus just looks pure bad a**. Also wanted to point out that I see alot people saying that this bundle is going to be any good, but I think it will sell a whole lot of ps3's especially in japan. There are still millions of japanese who havent jumped over to the ps3 and what better way to get there attention but to bundle Advent Children on bluray with extra features and enhanced features with an FF13 demo. Dud alot of people in japan will be buying that bundle. Good move on sony and square.

After the whole Shinji Mikami thing unless its contracted there is always a chance imo. I mean RE4 came out on PS2, Wii and PC. That guy should have taken a chainsaw to his head three times lol. Or was it only if it came to PS2? I forgot haha

I agree with you, guess what's the Best Rpg I've played this gen...?...?...? : FF7: Crisis Core. Im eager for Versus more than XIII... it was a 180 degrees turn though, It was the opposite before XIII went multi.

And Dirge of Cerebrus and FFVII aren't? You directly contradicted yourself early and basically killed any point you had. When you agreed to what Wasdie said you essentially said that FFVII Dirge of Cerebrus and Versus were only differenciated because Square Enix came out later much later with Dirge of Cerebrus yet they had the resources to make Veruss along side of FFXIII.

Alright it is an exception because SE is making a series of games based on Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy XIII which invovle 3 games including FF 13.

And yet still the only main installment of Fabula Nova Crystallis is the main entry in the series. Final Fantasy XIII. Its not like spinoffs are irrelevent to the main game or anything.

The main numbered Final Fantasy's are the main game. Anything and everything else is just a spinoff of the original creation of the IP.

You're going to tell me that an Action RPG with TPS elements from Dirge of Cerebus isn't a spinoff compared to the Menu based combat that is FFXIII? Give me a break.
