Square Enix has no plans to develop titles for the PS3 until sales improve

PS3 is losing support on a daily basis, what are the chances of FFXIII remaining exclusive?, not very good imo.

And yet FFXIII,FF Vs XIII and The Last Remnant are in development as we speak, and it was written in that article. Lets not forget that the X360 was included there as well. The shift to the Nintendo platforms is, obviously, because its both cheap and easy to develop for them, and wich such assesible (i.e. cheap) hardware, it would be stupid not to make money selling on those platforms.

Logic is your friend. Unless you're a fanboy of course...

Edit: My bad, I didnt read the article speciefed by TC, but I've read the same thing, with the inclusion of X360 development shiftingand less pro-Nintendo speak in another article. It was just the same thing, but with less NIntendo OWS and SOny **** all around. Welcome to the days of the Fanboy media.

Ps2- Sony does own shares of SE. The article theTC posted did not say it, but the games I said above are still in development and will go out for the PS3, and thus, makind it sales to rise.

If PS3 sales don't improve soon it will be the next Dreamcast, simple as that. When Square Enix say they will abandon you, you know things are bad.

Cows can kiss goodbye to the FF series if things don't get better, Square Enix will just stop making games for PS3.

The irony of this is that SE games will improve PS3 sales.

But they won't release them until sales improve.

If PS3 sales don't improve soon it will be the next Dreamcast, simple as that. When Square Enix say they will abandon you, you know things are bad.

Cows can kiss goodbye to the FF series if things don't get better, Square Enix will just stop making games for PS3.

Sony owns a few shares in Squaresoft. Prior to the Squaresoft/Enix merger, that might've meant something.

Make no mistake: SquareEnix is a 3rd party who may or may not develope on any platform they so choose.

Not anymore Square bought them back a while back.......And even if they owned 5% it does not mean much, Nintendo owned 5% of Bandi for a long time and it did not give them the right to say who got what game

Square is actively developing PS3 titles right now.

this is regarding future titles. Anything in development will probably be released but if those games don't do well or atleast make it worthwhile for SE, they'll stop making games for the ps3 and who knows what happens next.

3rd party aren't going to break their bank to create the marketshare for another company when they can just support another company with the most marketshare. that makes sense doesn't it?

those projects started long before the ps3 flopped all expectations. it's new titles that aren't going to be on ps3 unless sales improve. and i'm thinking they mean by a lot. not just a closer 3rd place. so if you expect ffxiv on the ps3 it's not a sure thing.

I would say that the credibility of this article is hovering around the level of "Paris Hilton's opinion on the war in Iraq". Nontheless, I wouldn't be surprised of Square was staring at the Wii thinking, "Looks like we have another DS on our hands, boys!"

And we all know how much Square loves the DS.

Dude Final Fantasy would sell HORRIBLY on the 360 since it sells almost double in Japan then the U.S., and that's just with the PS2 dicatating the console market. Now with the Wii closly gaining first I think that would be a horrible idea *unless you ment multiplat*. Also Japanese centric games have always sold worse on the XBox compared to the other consoles *Lost Planet and Dead Rising may be made in Japan, but they are as Western as you can get*. An example of this is that DOA4 ,Panzer Dragoon, and others sold as much in Japan then the U.S. and that's saying something with hardware sales.

Also, screw the remake I want a full-flegged sequel.
