This is from a interview for Cnet in Japan from Square Enix CEO

"The Wii is the antithesis of the Xbox 360. The 360 is strictly for hardcore gamers. The attachment rate for the Xbox 360 is much higher than for the Wii.

"People who buy the 360 really like games. I think the current trend is that most people aren't buying the Wii as a game machine, but as a toy.

"It seems that Sony isn't sure what it wants to do. Is it making high-end electronics or a game console for gamers? I want them to clearly define their console."

I don't see this as confirmation of "OMG!!!! The fact of the matter is the average publisher will currently make more money on the 360 than the PS3 or Wii. Also with the rising cost of development we are going to see fewer and fewer 3rd party exclusives. Try again bud.

What there is like 1 or 2 games they have coming to the 360? Wried they like it but are not using it. Maybe they are trying to get more Jappanesse to buy it so that they can change over. Because they are not going to leave Sony with how little 360s are in Japan.HarlockJC

Well I commend him for telling the truth when MOST developers are afraid to call itl ike it is. Not to mention everything he said is EXACTLY how I feel about this gen and it's owners.

Until the 360 sells better in Japan they are going to make most of their games for Nintendo and Sony. Maybe even more for Handheld then console. With that in mind they stated some time back that they want all 3 systems to be big. So I can only guess that they are waiting to see if the 360 gets bigger before they support it. But it just a wried statement.

360: for losers who are on Live 24/7 and have a game library of 99% shooters

Wii: gamers who want something different and admit the graphics aren't up to par, but love the awesome games out.

PS3: for gamers who have $50 more to burn on top of the 360's cost (350 +50 = $400, 40GB) and are fine with having a much smaller library tochoose from because the 360's tired shooters library would be ignored anyway.

Final Fantasy XIII and White Knight Story are both PS3 exclusives. I'm not sure how much love Square-Enix is showing the 360, but from where I am sitting I don't see a lot of it.....thinicer

We have enough games to last us, and more to come. You'll be "waiting" till 09 for this title, and if MGS4 flops the PS3 is certified: ****ed. The only FFs that would be considered console sellers are any ones of 'em released before FFIX.

1) Ah, but no one was crying for it :P After FF12, I don't think anyone would wanna cry for it. The videos and all look appealing but... I'm skeptical. I've pretty much gone to not liking the series since FFX.

2) I own a 360 and a Wii, though my dad and sister usually play the Wii. I want a 360 + PS3 combo, that way I wont be missing out on any games I really want. (Ninja Gaiden II, MGS4, DOA5 etc)

3) It wont flop but I doubt it'll be a system seller, it'll sell well (like all the others in the series) but nowhere near groundbreaking. But with the limitations on the PS3's library... it may just outsell Resistance.

The funny thing about this statement is the 360 has been out twice as long as the Wii. So it's attachment rate SHOULD be twice as high, since the average 360 owner has had their console for 2 years vs. just 1 year for the Wii. Yet the 360's attach rate is LESS than twice as high as the Wii's.
