I'm a lot more surprised people were suckered in into thinking Square would remake or remaster the game. In other words, I expected a port and Square-Enix are the greatest trolls in gaming.

I own the game on Ps1, i see no reason at all to get this on Ps4. What a joke this seems to be, no updated graphic, still running around with these blocky hands

The whole time during the trailer I was waiting for the moment they cut from original graphics to remastered ones. Never happened... :'(

@chronoschris: They haven't even released Final Fantasy XV or Kingdom Hearts 3 yet. Final Fantasy VII remake would be an even bigger undertaking than those two games.

What improvements are/were made for this version other than just slapping it on the ps4? Resolution increase? Audio quality increase? Texture improvements? Bug fixes? No? Then whats the point of re-buying the game.....

This is pathetic. Not just because they blatantly trolled fans, but because they're putting FFXVII on yet another platform. SE is desperate for that rehash money, it seems.

I think it was everyone grasping at straws praying for that megaton that would validate their PS4 or justify a PS4 purchase. I am in the latter half and I fell for the troll. I'll admit it he got me.

This company just seems so out of touch with their fans. Who thought that would be a good idea? Also, who gives a **** about FF7. Game was ported to PSP, PS3, and finally PC. Why the **** would people get a shit about ANOTHER port of a decade old game?

You know what would be cool? Porting over FFXII to PS4. That is the only Final Fantasy game that is inaccessible for modern game consoles.

Why does this exist? If it's just the PSone game, just wait until PSone classics are playable on PS4 and anyone who wants to play it can do so that way. Easy. Making a big deal out of a unaltered port of a PSone game we can buy and play already on PC, PSP, PS Vita, and PS3 is just stupid, and indicative of how incredibly detached with reality this pathetic badly aging company really is. If we were just going to get an unaltered port of an old game, I'd have taken Dragon Quest 8 over this. That game isn't on PSN, and is still perfectly playable. FFVII, on the other hand, has aged horribly.

Maybe they just wanted to find a way to get people to pay for the game again instead of waiting for Sony to get PSone classics working on PS4, in which case millions of people just download the game to their PS4 free of charge. This way they have to pony up, again. The fact that they thought this was worth announcing at a major show is just… baffling. We can't use the "R word" on these forums, but that word seriously is the only way to describe what they did today. Un-fucking-real man. How are these blithering idiots still in business??

The fact it's coming next year is just icing on the cake. If they really wanted to they could have released a PS4 version yesterday. That last little detail is nothing short of a big "**** you" to fans.

I'm not a fan of Final Fantasy but I was hyped about this since I knew how big of a deal it would be to many people. I was not aware of it being a port, so I feel pretty bad.
