Square Enix talks FF Versus XIII PS3 exclusivity

In order for something to be a spinoff, you would have had to had a subsequent architecure for that something to have been built off of. Final Fantasy 13: Versus, as stated by the developers, is a completely INDEPENDANT storyline that takes place as a part of the Nova Crystallis. It is NOT dependant on FF13, which is only another sub section of Nova Crsyallis. If you wan't to be completely correct in your terminology, then both FF13 and Versus are both "spin offs", because its NOVA CRYSTALLIS that is providing the background for both games.

So by your logic Megaman Star Force and Battle Network aren't spinoffs because they have their own indepenant story lines. This is a Action RPG with TPS Elements in such regards as Dirge of Cerebrus and you're trying to not pass this off as a spinoff?

I bought a PS3 around December 2006 or January 2007. Just a couple of months after launch. And I only own 4 Boxed games for it: Resistance: Fall of Man, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, and Metal Gear Solid 4. I am glad that FF Versus XIII is going to be added to that list. While on the other hand, I own around 30-40 boxed non arcade games for the 360. And about 10 for the Wii (which I got at launch). The PS3 is great, it just needs more exclusives games. I always get multiplat games for the 360 because of achievement points and my Friends list.

FF13 is definately the game most people want, but that's not to say Versus will suck. But I would be suprised if 13 didn't get AAA and I'd would expect Versus to get AA.

The Square Enix schedule is to port it to Xbox 360 and world wide localisation AFTER they finish the PS3 version for Japan.

I get to play both of them :)

that is based on a small websites speculation.

All we know so far is that FF13 will have a worldwide release and will release simultaneously on the ps3 and xbox. So I doubt that. In Europe and NA at least.

I never said Square sucks, I just said their newer games haven't been as good as the past. I found XII farless enjoyable than X. Change or no change I still found the most recent Square games not to the calibur as the previous ones.

FF13 > FF7. And that's coming from someone whose favorite game of all time is FF7. You know, it's newer and I haven't experienced it, I'd rather play that. And besides, FF13 is fanservice to FF7. I was comparing the ones that Square has already released not XIII... I find XIII to be interesting because it has a futuristic flow to it, the one dislike about XII that I had was the whole European set up. Also in Versus one of the characters looks like Sasuke from Naruto =/

SE is the new EA,so I wouldn't trust them when it comes to something being exclusive.

PS3 first, WITH THE 360 IN MIND. Because of that, they obviously will not be pushing the PS3 to its limits. Look at the trailers, we've got nothing new besides a few CGI clips... SINCE 2006 :| that gameplay segment in the tailer has always been there all these years.

When developers say they want both versions exactly the same... you know we'll get less quality than its initial potential.
