I know I may get flamed for saying that it may get a 10 but whatever... I mean the game is still a good ways away and the website is still giving great updates. Being able to change your button layout is a huge plus. This update proves once again how much time and thought has gone into this game. It is going to be very challenging to find flaws with this game. The only concerns are the graphics (good for Wii but not that great when compared to other game console games), and the online. I however feel that the online will be good because why would they make this the main online game for the system just to have the online not work very well. And for the graphics, I do not feel that a game like this needs amazing graphics, and when you are immersed in the gameplay, I do not feel that many people will be thinking that the game looks bad. Running at 60 FPS is also very good. I know that a 10 seems very unlikely considering all of the other great games that have came out, and the fact that none of them got one. However, I feel that a 9.5 is very likely, and a 10 is possible.
I love SSB... but thats a bit too optimistic, I recon it will get a 9.0 something's telling me that the Wii mote and the game's frantic mayhem will leave the reviewers wrists in pain so he/she would probably give it a lower score than :P
I still have hope in GS. When you think about it, with the metric ****ton of stuff they add to this game, I could easily see a 9.5.
What makes me see a 10 in this game is the wifi, a much needed feature (along with 40 or 50 something characters). Even if the online turns out bad, its better than having no online at all.

Agreed, No matter what it gets all wii owners will buy it one day even if they don't buy it at launch everyone knows this will be one of the wii's biggest games

why do you say you got "hope" in GS? if SSBB will get a good score is mostly up to the creators of the game and btw, why does a 2 digit dumber matter so much? Will the game bemore enjoyable if the score was a 9 instead of an 8?

I knew someone who bought smash brothers melee just because of the cover and how cool it looked and didn't realize it was just a fighting game with no real single player and ended up hating it. I bet this probably happened with a few people out there. But yeah, it's gonna be awesome.

Neither. I'm not saying that it's going to bad, or that I'm not planning to get it (in fact it's my second most anticipated Wii game, after Mario Galaxy which I haven't gotten yet :(). I just think that GS will say something like "Despite some great addition to the game, it still feels like the same game that you played on the Gamecube." Also, based on today's update, I can also see them saying something like "Nintendo gives you 4 different controls schemes to choose from, which is great. Unfortunately, only two of those control schemes are actually good. The Wiimote controls don't feel that good without the analog stick, and the Wiimote and Nunchuck combo is even worse, having awkward button placement, and only having a small, tacked-on use of the motion sensors."
SSBB is the only game in which none will care about the score. If SMG had gotten an 8.5 the world would be flipped upside down, if SSBB gets 8.5 noone woul care. For starters it's not even being hyped AAA.
But looking at it SSBB is the Only game that screams "buy a wii". Which i will do when it comes out.
Man people are overhyping SSBB. I've seen some people who actually think it has a good chance at getting a 10. I love Smash brothers, but its going to get a 9 at best. Not that it matters though, because that's not going to stop the rabid Smash brothers fans from buying 5 copies of it.
I am sticking to 9.0. It could be 9.5 depending on if the online is top notch. I already know controls wont be a problem due to the heavily customizable controls(w00t for tap jump option!). This on top of Sonic, Snake, an actual STORY, and a level editor.

Smash Bros isn't even an AAA franchise. Nintendo probably nerfed everything good about the game (there will not be SHFFLing, WD, or anything that made the game remotely competitive).

That reminds me of the Super Metroid on the VC review. It got an 8.5 and his only complaint was "Nintendo made us wait 13 years to play it"

You don't need to shake the controller for this game, and they are 4 kinds of controller you can use with SSBB, including the GC controller..

You don't need to shake the controller for this game, and they are 4 kinds of controller you can use with SSBB, including the GC controller.. Plus the wiimote shaking is just an option. you can turn it off.
