[QUOTE="l-_-l"]To me there isn't even a contest here. SSBB is a kiddie fighting game and nothing more to me. I don't like the dated graphics and the character models. Tekken 6 wins without even raising a finger.l-_-l

So the "kiddy" graphics make SSBB worse then tekken ??

seems to me your just grasping at straws in ways to not like brawl

Don't care how it seems to you. I simply don't like kiddy looking fighting games. I like more realistic looking fighting games.

Because Tekken is really realistic looking... King is a striking example of realism.

Easily Brawl. Tekken has always been a fairly deep fighter with good mechanics, but Brawl is deeper. I've had the game for a month (imported), and honestly, i thought it wouldn't be as deep as melee was. I thought without wavedashing (an advnaced tech that was huge in melee but is left out of brawl), the game wouldn't be as "hardcore". But it really is a great fighter. No other fighter lets you control your charaters directional influence, physics, and even the number of frames a characters attack has. And if you take a look at the current brawl community, a lot of people have already found a TON of advanced techs.

Brawl wins it out for me.

the way the game looks is not as important as how it plays besides that SSBB does not look kiddy. Your just going with the currently debunked misconception that everything with Nintendo is kiddy.

You win.

Brawl for me, use to be a tekken fanatic untill after the 3rd installment, which it just faded away. As many others have said, tekken gets boring over time, Super smash brother's gameplay is the kind in which it is impossible to become bored with easily

I absolutely loved Tekken on the PS1 when I was a kid but Melee was so much fun. With the negative previews on Tekken 6, I'm a bit worried and Brawl has so much cool features. So, Brawl > Tekken 6 imo.

everyone knows SSBB is the more popular fighting game among these boards, but I don't think it is better. I chose T5 over SSBM

Smash is different than the tradtional style which is Tekken. I like Tekken but I like how much more freedom and how frantic Brawl is.

[QUOTE="Cyber-"]With smash bros you make your own combos with Tekken you are more constricted with the traditional fighter.
Both re amazing though.DementedDragon

I'd have to disagree with one, but agree with the other.

You can only go so far with combos in Smash Bros, Tekken like the majority of 3D fighters (except Smash) has an extensive command list with A LOT of jugglers, stunners, and combos to work with. There are a number of ways you can start the offensive, it can get close to the level of 'creativity' seen in Smash. And to it's credit, Smash has more ways to take on an opponent aside from punches and kicks.

I will agree that both are/will be amazing.

SSB allows for complete freedom over your character. Tekken has alot of moves but they do not allow the freedom that comes with SSB. While these stuns and parries allow for many different combinations of ways to fight it is still not as free as what SSB has esp Brawl where every little part is controlled by you. Its basically infinite.

i really don't get it though.....

how you people compare games like soul calibur, VF, Tekken, and whatever....to Smash bros melee....and now Brawl.....It's crazy. SSB doesn't restrict you to a certain play style. You can play with any character however you want. It's so flexible, and on a deep, competitive level (not the mainstream brawlers, but the hardcore serious 'MLG' crowd), no fighting game comes close to Brawl. There's a reason that SSBM is the second most popular game in Major League Gaming (MLG). Soul Calibur was at one time in competition, but the turn out for that game was too low. Any smash hater....go watch a vid of Ken or PC chris playing melee.

some of you guys really have no idea how smash plays or how deep it is on a competitive level, and it's really a shame. you're missing out.

that's only a matter of opinion. Tekken's physics and movements are so wide open, it has been 2 years later and I'm still seeing new things being brought forward in T5: DR

How can Tekken compete with Smash's wide battle arena, wide variety of characters and moves, and Final smashs?
I'm tired of playing the same fighters like Tekken. Why not only play Tekken? Play Virtua Fighter, Street Fighter, and Soul Caliber. They are all the same thing. (Don't get me wrong I like all these but Brawl is something different)

the best tekken = TTT

best ssb = ssbb

for me ssbb better than tekken 6

and since tekken´s rage system is unbalanced and they don't fix that i would never change my mind !

if developer cant balance a fighting games i don't buy them

No, I am going with the fact that it looks kiddy. I can't help it that it doesn't look kiddy to you. If you can't see how much more realistic and none kiddy looking Tekken 6 is over SSBB, then I can't help you with that personnal problem. You are just going to have to learn to deal with the fact that it looks kiddy to me and doesn't interest me because I like realistic looking fighting games. I can only please one person a day, and today just isn't your day.

I am hyping Smash like there is no tomorrow but I am a big fan of other fighters like Street Fighter, Soul Caliber, and Tekken. In fact, you can look at my blog and they are included in my must play games. I haven't really played Virtua Fighter tough, I have to try it out

But, nvm, the point is, in the end I feel that Smash Bros. is better in some points like I feel is it more frantic and has much more replay value. Also, I think it has better and more original gameplay.

I fall into that category and so what? I've played most of those "real" fighters and to me they get horribly boring after a few moments when you find out you're so restricted to the moves you can do, everything is so fixed that the advantage you can take over your opponent after several matches is impossible because you've already tried everything the game offers and that's weak. I can't think how ANYONE can enjoy those kind of games in the long run, SSB breaks that wall and introduces something new and fresh(ring any bells, Nintendo? :p lol) which makes it MUCH more appealing and fun, that "free" sensation is incomparable and the number of characters makes every single person that plays SSBB different that everyone because SSB let's you do it you're style and doesn't restrict you to the things you can think of and that trully makes a fighter game. SSB OWNS the fighter genre, like it or not.

Why do I even bother. You are obviously biased and not even worth arguing to. Ever heard of a little game called Street Fighter 2? It pretty much invented the fighter genre and created the clone which is known as "Tekken."

Now let's look at Brawl for a moment. Can you name any other fighter that it copied? I doubt it, Why? Because it is more ORIGINAL. There is your fact

Silly talk to me. No fighter is easy to master, yet you want to put that as a merit to Smash? Then you talk about how it's deeper than Tekken, then I ask how is it deeper than Tekken?

SSBB is not a real fighting game. it shouldnt be compared to tekken, doa, sc, or vf. maybe power stone and that is kind of pushing it.

[QUOTE="Axel_rocks14"] Why do I even bother.

Cute_Red_Panda

Powerstone and Marvel vs. Capcom.

smash brother copied from marvel vs capcom ?? that's new for me

don't you think its better you play smashbrother before you talk that .......

its like you say streetfighter and tekken are the same games course in both you can choose difrend fighter

Powerstone and Marvel vs. Capcom.

Powerstone was released on Feb. 25, 1999 in JP (which came before US)
Super Smash Bros. was released Jan. 21, 1999 in JP (Came before US)

Congratulations, you fail.

Also, what does Marvel vs. Capcom have to do with Smash Bros? It's just Street Fighter 2 with some Marvel superheroes like Spiderman and the X-Men.

[QUOTE="Cyber-"][QUOTE="l-_-l"][QUOTE="Gh0st_Of_0nyx"]

I like more realistic looking fighting games.

no one cares...

the way the game looks is not as important as how it plays besides that SSBB does not look kiddy. Your just going with the currently debunked misconception that everything with Nintendo is kiddy.

As I said no one cares what personally pushes you away from games.

The game is really good. there are certain games i dont like the look of but there are other aspects that simply trump that small negative. As it is Brawl has a great art style and a good look. Again your personal preference does not simply make the game bad.
