You know, I never liked Melee all that much, so I won't probably be buying Brawl either.Son_of_Some

I agree completely. I had a GC and now own a Wii and I just don't get all the hype and worship that the Melee/Brawl games get. They're cute...but there are better fighter games out there in my opinion.

The Smash fighting games have always appealed to me because they're incredibly fast-paced and really crazy. That's why my favorite and only fighting games I play are Smash and Guilty Gear.

i wish they would bring the game back to it's roots as a PARTY game, not a fighting game, just my opinion.

Since when has Super Smash Bros. been a party game? Its always been a fighting game since the original.

no, the game was much more balanced back in the day, 50-50. I know you fight, yes, but the fun of the game is the use of items and 4 player free for alls and the chaos. All the melee purist only like to play the simple levels, no items, one on one, using all those techniques. SSB never had that problem, at least with the people i played, but SSBM made me hate the series and ultimatley why i decided to get rid of my wii

Well it is a great game for large groups of friends (ie parties). However, the same can be said about a lot of games in a lot of genres.

Honestly, I dont see why so many people get so defensive over Smash being considered a fighting game. (Not you prince....just peopple in general.)

I'm not getting your problem. I agree, SSBM had serious balance issues (See: Fox and Falco), but I always thought the beauty of the game was the fact that you could play anyway you wanted. I mean, I play using alot of advanced techs, but I still love using items. Also, my friends and I dont use items (their choice. I was overruled lol) but we always play 4 player. It's really just about tweaking the game the way you want to play.

I honestly didnt like Melee. I guess I didnt really give it a lot of play time, but it just didnt appeal to me when I rented it.
