oh the online will be great, what other game can be like SSBB online nothing.

DS-style friend codes, 1 on 1, lag (huge hurdle in fighters), limited game modes. There are many possible complications. One could be a result of another. 1 on 1 or limited modes because of lag issues.

im talking about the fighting with 4 players no other fighting game can't do that and you don't even know the wii's online compard to the DS online I bet you there will be just one friend code and that is the wii friend code you have that then you are all set to play your friends if they had the game. but if you think the online is not great then you are on drugs then.

You don't understand. So far, we know that Pokemon Battle Revolution uses its own friend code, and Elebits uses the Address Book. It's a possibility it will have its own friend code. Lag is a gigantic issue in fighting games. Understand that. And the more players that are playing, the more lag there will be, which is why four player may be discarded. That is also a possibility. Or it's possible that it will be there with serious latency issues, detracting from the enjoyment. Also possible. It could be excellent. It could be not. I'm telling why it's likely that it won't be.

It will be 4 players online. if it has 2 it would suck and you are to lazy to wait and see I know only because I have a Friend who is the manager at ebgames and he said it will have 4 players online SSSB. nintendo will not change that.

If the online is solid, then I believe it will get AAA.Personally,I think online will make or break this game.If we do get the online feature promised,it better have a lot of options,or else that will most likely bring the score down.I want to be able to play all the characters I've unlocked, all the places I've unlocked, and (possibly) communicate to my opponents in some way.Not just with people on my friend list, but with everybody. And then a battle with people on my friend list,I want some different modes, like Giant Melee,Invisible Melee, and Lightning Melee, and maybe more options. But if we don't get online (We will, anyway. It's been confirmed) or if the online is lackluster, then Nintendo missed a major chance.Online,in my opinion, will make or break this game.

I dunno, they pulled off the no lag deal with Hunters, I don't see why they couldn't with Brawl (noob moment, I know)Grodus5

Actually lag is pretty common in hunters.  :(

To be completely honest I don't care. If they rereleased SSBM and just added online I would be perfectly happy.cakeorrdeath
Bingo, that's how I feel. Eventhough they are already adding more people, more stages, and giving it a bump in graphics.

I agree. Although...I'll still be happy if they include the basics. Stock, time, and tournment is the three major things I think the online needs. That, and a lobby of some sort..... And we need little to no lag!

Can u even get online without atleast a dsl connection on wii? I'd buy brawl no matter what it scores. For online they need random battles like mph or mkds AND u can pick modes in random battles. i only need stock match (thats all  and my friends and I play) all arenas and all options like time limit and damage ratio.

With 4 player support,if possible......2 player is fine for me,but 4 player is where Smash Bros excels at........

The thing is though...Melee owned everything on GC...argue all you want but it was THE MOST POPULAR and best selling GAME on that system, Brawl is going to be so important for the wii no matter what...it's not a game whihc derives on getting good critical praise. Galaxy and Prime 3 do though.

Maybe, knowing GS review history on the ssb games it's hihly possible for brawl to not get an AAA. But hey why should ppl care, Melee was an excellent game and as far as it goes for me I bought a GC only for that game.

SSB Melee did a great job compared to Brothers, it had tons of new stuff, characters and so on. I'm pretty sure Nintendo will do the same job with brawl, adding tons of new characters, map and so on.

It wont get GOTY, or get AAA, but it will be the best game of this gen IMO.
I got so much play out of melee last gen, my favourite game definatly from last gen; I don't care about reviews, they're just there to guide me for when I'm unsure about a games quality.

The way Gamespot have been flopping games recently, i wouldnt be surprised if it didnt get AAA. Most of the wii games problem in GS reviews is the controls. Since SSBB is using the classic controller (AFAIK) then that might give it an edge over other games.

I really hope they add a wii-mote control set-up. It won't use the motion sensing, but just map the buttons to the controller. That way I don't have to plug in my gamecube controllers to play it. I'm sure they could do it.

Yeah i do aswell, why invent a great controller to go back to a last gen pad? You could map it, but for more headroom button wise, the nunchuck might be needed. Holding the remote sideways gives me cramp in my hands with long sessions. And i play SSBM alot, so if it did use the wii remote sideways...:(

I agree.I think there are just enough buttons to be able to map them out with the Wii-mote and Nunchuck,or maybe they'll use the Classic Controller. But I'd still like them to implement some motion sensing.Nothing serious or drastic, but just a little something.

Yeah I meant with the nunchuck aswell. What would be perfect, is if they use the pointer to easily navigate the menus, select characters, fiddle with trophies, and just fight the regular way.

Little things like wake up from being asleep, or knocked out, or being grabbed could be done byu shaking the controler and nunchuk, but that might feel a little wierd.

I guess that's why they said at E3 that they may not use motion sensing; It could be very awkward in a game like Smash Bros.

I was thinking like using the Wii-mote to pull of smash attacks, sort of like the C-Stick in Melee.Tilt it to one side, and the character will perform a smash attack in a certain direction.Or rotate the nunchuck to one side to do a rolling dodge.Maybe lower the nunchuck to crawl (since we saw that new move in the last trailer).

There are many possibilities, and if they can't implement motion sensing,it'll be okay, since we knew it wouldn't work anyway.

Despite being a fanatic of this game I'll have to say your right. Reason being, Im finding it hard to see how HAL will be able to improve on melee as melee did on the original. It will be hard for them to create extra modes without the modes being a bit pointless and half-assed. The one redeeming factor of the game could be the online content if they focus alot into it, such as setting up online tournaments etc. One thing that could make or break the game is the amount of nostalgia they pack into the disc and the amoiunt of characters/lvls etc.

People actually care if it's AAA or not? It's freaking SSBB! It could get A and I'd still knock down everything in my house to get to my car and break the speed limit to buy that game.

Yes exactly, to get AAA they must change the game mechanics or something, better graphics and a few new characters is not enough and itll probably rate lower than SSBM too.

better graphics and a few new characters... tekken five springs to mind
