Right now both consoles have around the same amount of sales. But since the Wii's userbase consists of casuals, I just can't see why Grandma's or Soccer moms playing SSBB, which is why Halo 3 will outsell it.Magical_Guy
I can't see Grandma's and soccer moms playing Metroid Prime 3 yet the game is apparantly selling well.
Anyways, whether or not Brawl will outsell Halo 3 or the other way around is still up in the air. Short term, Halo 3 wins. Long term, with the oversaturation of shooting online games on the 360, Brawl may pull ahead.
Huh. We're making topics to state the obvious now? Alright, please go to my topic about the existance of the Sun.manningbowl135
your thread fails, since the sun revolves around me.
I assume you are referring to that one guy who said that SSBB would outsell Halo 3 (quote in a few sigs), but It's pretty obvious it won't.Solid_Snake1221
lol. That would be me you're refferring to. And yes, I think it will. Of course, it may not, and if it doesn't, call me in 4 years to collect your ownage :P

Hey, you never know, you might be right. :)
Metroid Prime 3 just sold 400,000 in it's first week. That is 1/10th of all american Wii owners. It will easily sell over 1 million in america which is 1/4th of all American Wii owners. Zelda TP sold over 2 million in the US. That is 1/2 of all American Wii owners.
So... who is buying these games? Soccer moms and grandmothers? I don't think so.
I agree that Halo 3 will probably outsell SSBB, but this is weak Wii flamebait.
jlaudio7- why bet billions when you could bet.... millions! (austin powers reference)
no, ssbb won't outsell halo 3. halo 3 has hype and more widespread popularity. if i asked a nongamer if they knew what smash bros was, they wouldn't know what i was talking about. besides, why would you buy a game where you can't hear people calling you a fa**** the whole time?

 at your sigHalo 2 has sold 8 million. Melee has sold about 7 million (no source other than Wikipedia; sowwy). The userbase for Xbox was a little higher than the GameCube. If the Wii continues to outsell the 360 (which it seems it would), then the userbase would be a lot larger for the Wii and thus more copies of Brawl to sell to people.
Out the gate, Halo 3 may sell better. In the end, I don't see why Brawl can't.
So you're not aware that Resident Evil 4, Red Steel, Legend of Zelda, Super Paper Mario, all hardcore games not easily accessed by casuals have sold a million copies?
Umm, and with Halo being as popular as it is, wouldn't it be the MOST casual title coming out this year?
And if the Wii stays even or passes even more so the 360 in sales EVEN WITH Halo 3 being released we will remember September 25th 2007 as the day the 360 lost the console wars.
Coz if that can't put it over the top nothing will, what fable 2? Alan Wake? Please those won't sell half as many copies as Wii Play.
I bet it will, Nintendo's set to have a much bigger base than m$, and it's already a horribly popular game.yoshi-lnex
The Wii is popular with casuals and casuals won't buy it.

Just like casuals won't buy halo? Oh that's right....erm, who the hell said SSBB WOULD outsell Halo 3? :lol:JLAudio7
*raises hand* I think it will, not this year or next year, but over the life of the console I think SSBB will out sell halo just because I think that the wii will have a larger user base and SSBB is extremely noob friendly. SSBM outsold haloCE and was only about a million off from halo2

Yeah, something I've always loved about the series is how approperiate the difficulty levels are in 1 player, ranging from very easy, where a 5 year old could pass, to very hard, where an experienced gamer would have a real challange.Something for everybody.

Well I said it earlier but you took the cake for dumbest thing i've read today. halo 3 will sell ALOT of 360s the day it comes out and more 360s in the months/weeks after. you are talking like only the peple who buy halo 3 will be the people who already own a 360. this game will sell 360s like crazy, not to say SSBB won't do that for the wii as well but it won't do it to the dgree that halo will for the 360.

Just like casuals won't buy halo? Oh that's right....all xbox owners are casuals, but that's going off topic.
I dont know wich is going to sell better (i bet for ssbb)
But there are too much casuals in the 360 side
If wou asume that casuals wont buy smash you have
too asume the same for the 360 too
tarmadadj
But you have to understand halo has alot of "hardcore" gamers and people who bought it and play it when they have friends over and really could care less about winning. I would call that casual. SSB has the same type of fanbase but the SSB fanbase is not as large as the halo fanbase hnds down.
