SSX, A nightmare come true? (Updated with info)

Holy **** I cannot believe you guys. Honestly. Claiming to be all "I won't judge until see gameplay". Hypocrites all of you. They show a 1 minute trailer and everyone is saying "THE FRANCHISE IS DEAD" Seriously. Shut up. You have no idea what the game will be like. And you claim you do because of the title blah blah blah. Fact is, the title doesn't mean anything until you play the game. That's all I have to day. Please go back to whining about what you think is a dead franchise because of one trailer. mrmusicman247

it probably is overreacting but the only people who were really looking forward to this were the hardcore fans of the series that thought it was long dead, now it's resurrection looks nothing like the original. Yeah it's just a trailer but the old games had a completely different tone and atmosphere, tricky by run dmc playing while a guy with an afro flies off a cliff with fireworks going off and he's breakdancing on his snowboard, that was the tone of ssx.robokill

It looks like Im the only long time SSX fan that was pleased with the trailer :P I just don't understand why people didn't like it, I mean it's too short and doesn't have enough content to pass judgement yet. Not like the DMC trailer that was shown at TGS, now we can all agree that Capcom ruined DMC but there is no way of telling if EA has messed up SSX simply because we saw a helicopter, snowy mountain and cinematic imagery. Im sure the next title will still contain the crazy characters, out of this world moves and well made stages with great jumps.Swift_Boss_A

I agree with this becasue god damn do I love SSX. I'm more excited for a new SSX than even Zelda. But this trailer does not look like what I want SSX to be. Sooooooo here's hoping the gameplay brings back Psymon, Elise, Mack, Moby and all the other awesome people and outrageous style. If not....EA can bite me.

Of course it's going to be different. Its an SSX "Reboot" hence the name Deadly Descents. However if they take away the crazy tricks and the personalities of the characters then I will agree with everyone here. mrmusicman247

I'm very curious to know as to why they wanted to make a game that was kooky and fun, and made it dark and serious.......but I'll wait for further details and maybe a demo before I call it dead.

I hope the trailer was a joke. I mean, how do you explain the trailer opening up like call of duty, and the name of the game being like a B rate war movie title?

EA is having an internal identity crises, it seems they have mistaken a new SSX for a pile of **** Dark summit 2

As for this game, I'm willing to actually see what it is before I thrash it. All of this griping reminds me of, oh every time a new game in a franchise is mentioned and some change is announced. I really don't care about the changes as long as the game is good. I don't want to play the same goddamn game all the time.

SSX was all about big jumps and crazy tricks on a snowboard. As long as that is retained and the controls are good, it could be in space and I wouldn't give a.....

It's not that it will suck, obviously no one knows that yet. But it already has almost nothing to do with SSX.

It's like if the trailer for Forza 4 had the guys from Crazy Taxi driving the cars and there was an Offspring song playing in the background. It doesn't mean it's a bad game, but you're just like "WTF are they doing? I wanted Forza"

I sort of agree. The only part that really bothered me was the very end when he turns into a flying squirel. Just seems out of place and odd. Otherwise it's arguable that SSX3 (I played this and Blur) has moments like that on the 3rd peak. I don't see anything wrong with some intense boarding. That said I hope they don't make the whole thing dark and such. I highly doubt they will though. Oh and as for crazy jumps, he does a pretty crazy one in the video. I think people need to relax until gameplay is shown ;).

BTW I have always been more of a boarder who dresses in black or white and listens to rock, rather than today's mentality of wearing neon pink coats and listening to rap. What happened to "cool", rather than being a "noncomformist"? :P
