flop. glad I own a couple other systems to keep me entertained. Wii and PS3 are struggling in the library category right now. 360, DS and PSP will keep me warm until those consoles get it together.Dreams-Visions

The hype was from A-AA but I think many went into the AA camp. I stayed away from this one. Never been a fan of SSX.
Ok. sheep are lying. First this game Was hyped AAA. Then it was hyped AA. Not it was hyped A? This game was only hyped AA. I hyped AA as well. Ownage approved.
This is why I read the review, ignore the score and never look at previews. They hype games into the stratosphere then smash the score into tiny bits and gripe about things that you hardly notice after you've been playing for 5 mins and get into the game.
I was expecting AA, but none else reported framerate issues so I guess i phailed :(
So, Lost Planet, Crackdown and VF5 floped. perhpas GS is trying to apply the ratings as it should? 5 average (A.K most game, not just the sucky ones). 6 fair games, 7 good games. etc
well, I admit ownage for hyping it high AA - low AAA.
but I'm still gonna buy it. :)

Man..for the love of (insert deity here), I wish we'd get rid of this "ownage" term...it's so damn sarcastic and has a kind of, I don't know, kindergarden schoolyard appeal to it.

I'm new to System Wars, so I'm still not understanding something... If a game isn't mind-blowingly revolutionary and amazing in every aspect, it is a flop? It can't just be a fun game, it is total garbage and should be disregarded? Nevermind giving other people a chance to play it, of course. That must be nonsensical.

If the majority of a given system's fanboys are hyping a game for that system to score 9.0+ and it scores below that mark it's considered a "flop." The same holds true for 8.0+ hype, 7.0+ hype, etc.
The whole forum is idiocy though - just the premise alone. One of the saddest forums on the net.

Lol flops are mostly handed out based on the kind of hype they receive, or how well they are perceived to be. I mean for example you're not gonna see anyone tossing around a "flop thread" for Bullet Witch (scored 5.5) because not a sole actually expected that game to be any good.Â
It's also a funny thing how when a Wii game flops pretty hard (mid AA to low AAA was the hype)Â it's not that big of a thing to people and when a PS3 game doesn't do as well as thought, there's about 10 threads questioning if the PS3 can ever recover lol.

Thanks man, I think I'm starting to understand. Other threads suggest that fanboys have no credibility as is, so why is it such a big deal that they get "owned" (a word used all too often such that is loses its significance)? Back on topic though, I still think SSX Blur looks fun, and 7.4 is probably a fair score if the controls are not as tight as they should be. A "flop" score of 7.4 won't stop me from trying it out for myself...
I love how we are the ones who set up the hype and watch it crash. I don't think any developer recently has flopped their own game. At least until you go back to Fable...
well this game didnt meet hype but i wouldnt be to mad with the flop part. the only problem with this game was it was hard to do tricks with the controller, it wasnt as tight as it needed to be. the way gs sounded if the controls were on this game would have hit the 8s, so not to bad. its a time kill. but by sw rules of hyping a game this was a flop by those standards. it was hyped AA and got A so yeah flop by those standards. but it isnt like this game stinks. just hard to control. oh well

I agree. Anything over 7 is good, above average. 5 is average. Still, it flopped. :P
