Interesting. Sounds like a buggy mess, but they are getting a pass for it, with such statements that the community will fix it in weeks etc.

Now imagine if this way made by Ubi or EA, you guys would be shitting on it for weeks/months/years.

Gamers don't have any standards these days unless it's for those devs they don't Ike then they can find a needle in a hay stack to hate over it, embarrassing the lot of ya 🤦‍♂️

@last_lap: Can't speak for others, but I very much dislike Ubi and EA games. If they have bugs, that's just a bonus to shit on. Stalker I enjoy, even with bugs. That said, I'm not buying the new one until they fix the major things, so I'm not excusing anything. I refuse to buy it at this state. Ubi and EA games I refuse to buy, period. Well, most. Bought the new PoP, which I like.

We all know that GSC has had brutal circumstances developing this game. Regardless what kind of empathy we have for the developer, we can't ignore that Microsoft made the decision to release the game in this state and they are ultimately responsible for the quality of the game that is being released. So, MS fucked up and they do deserve to be blamed.

I was under the impression that MS was one of the publishing partners due to the game being exclusive, day one on Game Pass, etc.. Also, I think I remember reading an article of MS supporting the devs financially during the war or something along those lines. MS seemed very involved in the project. Maybe I am confusing them with Epic Games helping Ukraine developers during the war. Not sure. That being said, I checked now and MS are not an official publisher. So, my bad, the blame falls on the publisher and not MS.

Perfect example of what i'm talking about, the game has been pushed back multiple times before, so another delay wasn't going to hurt "considering their former situation" but you can't shit on MS for the devs not having the game in a fully functioning game, that's totally on the devs, if they needed help im sure MS would have sent help since they have exclusivity for however long it is.

See even that comes across as hating the companies behind them, you act like the 2 companies make the same exact game with every release when that's not true. It's ok to admit you hate Ubi/EA, but let's not pretend that it's all about the games.

Like I said if this was EA/Ubi the hate would be off the charts right now. You said nothing that has changed my opinion on that.

I don't act like the two companies make the same exact game, but now that you mention it, Ubi makes pretty much the same game with every release, I don't have to act there. The few games they make that isn't using their extremely reused open world template, I'm actually interested in though, like PoP. EA games doesn't only make bad games nowadays, they are also riddled with microtransactions and other bullshit, making them unplayable.

Uh-huh. Not by me though. I give them hate for the games they make, not the bugs they have.

With STALKER 2, people expected bugs. STALKER 1 was extremely buggy, and STALKER 2 was made during war. I think the amount of more bugs it has than Ubi and EA games makes sense, and I don't think it's equally fun or justified for people to shit on STALKER 2 for having bugs, as it is for people shitting on multi-billion dollar budget games from Ubi and EA. And that said, STALKER 2 is not getting a pass. People very much dislike its bugs, and I personally haven't bought the game because of them.

So, you make excuses for them, wasn't you who said modders will have it fixed in a couple of weeks?

People should expect a playable game, not a buggy mess, and because the first game release broken then everyone should just accept that the second will be that way too. That's crazy talk. Devs should play test their games and make sure they're in a playable state if they're expecting people to buy their games.

Its madness how gamers are willing to except broken games, and yet even defend xertain devs over them.

Wasn't an excuse, just facts. Expecting a bug free game from a company who always make buggy games, and now made a game during war, would be stupid as hell. Expecting others to fix it with mods, just like they did with the first game, makes sense.

Yeah, I don't agree that people should accept a buggy game, which is why I never said or implied that. Those are your words. But the fact that people expected bugs is most likely why they aren't getting as much shit for them.

But it is an excuse, saying that people should expect a buggy game because the one before it was buggy is an excuse, so is saying modders will fix it for them.

I get the whole war situation but the devs moved to the development to Pague 20 months ago, and they have the backing of one of the biggest companies (MS) in the world to help them, so that excuse isn't really relevant now.

What am I excusing? I'm saying you should expect bugs from people who make buggy games.

I'm obviously not excusing the bugs, as I refuse to buy the game with them present.

GSC can be given a bit of slack considering the situation their country is in right now. But honestly, it's just expected at this point. UE5 + GSC is just a recipe for disaster.

Yeah I can't have really seen this go any way different, even the best optimized and well crafted UE 5 games were full of issues for me. From lumen spazzing out (horrific grain on everything) to the stutters. I was actually surprised to see how few stutters this game has, but that doesn't excuse all the other technical difficulties.

I mean I get that reviewers say we should cut GSC some slack and that they will surely fix the game up and such.

But really there is absolutely no assurance that they will and a product should always be reviewed on the state it is in now.

Which is bad. It's in a bad state.

Nope runs pretty good on Xbox it's mostly PC having all the typical issues PC has for most games at launch.

And the stick drift some have on Xbox is a really easy fix not a big deal. Aim assist change two custom and just put it at the same of 60.

We know it runs like shit on Xbox, has the same bugs as PC and even has full on freezes as showcased in the DF video. So, we know you are full of shit, but what typical issues is the game having that are specific to PC?

I'm calling this BS!

I know for a fact the console version is in bad shape than on PC. On the positive side, after nearly 2 hours of play, I can say that the performance is solid on PC, and I haven't encountered any major bugs...yet. And on the negative side, the console UI is really annoying on PC to the point where I constantly use the wrong items😅

That said, Stalker 2 atmosphere is just really impressive and truly stunning. For an UE5, the only previous UE5 game I played was Robocop game from last year. And that was kinda neat, fun and everything, but Stalker 2 is on a whole different level when it comes to using UE5 the right way.

nah he's right, it's not bad at all on the xbox in performance mode. quality mode is like a slide show and there's some framerate dips, some shitty flickering shadows, but overall it's not a bad looking game at all. it's not going to compare to a high end pc obviously, but it's 100% no console cyberpunk 2077 at launch, not even remotely close. i haven't got that stick drift that keeps being mentioned either

@BassMan: lack of UW support 🙈

But nah that was fixed with mods, and most of the minor issues were fixed with mods.

But that leaves the bigger, more resource intensive stuff that needs to be ironed out.

This game is a hardcore shooter through and through, we'll both love it one day, I'm sure we will. But as of right now this game is an easy avoid.

Even if proper UW support wasn't fixed by mods, that is still not a PC specific issue as there is no ultrawide support on console.... for any game! LOL

Yes of course praise the PC to reassure yourself the ridiculous money you spent on you rig is worth it. I've never said that Staller 2 did not have bugs or any problems I've just said it runs fairly well on Series X for the most part.

Man, I dunno what you get so worked up about. Think of your blood pressure.

I just posted the first three guys that had a video up.

In the meantime I've watched SkillUp's review and Jarek the gaming dragon (only AFTER I played the game myself)

SkillUp often gets praised for his style of presentation, he's always pretty clear and uses good examples.

ACG is another guy I can't fault.

Most of the severe bugs and issues are on PC I'm telling you on Xbox it honestly runs pretty good and the bugs are somewhat minimal. I honestly believe lots of people have tried to play Stalker 2 and it's just to brutal and punishing for them and they don'[t have the patience so they just go full negative and start overblowing bugs and issues.

It's ok. Different.

Too much recycled content.

If you're in the mood for Call of Pripyat. There is the cool gunslinger mod.

Should be backported to the older STALKER games too, but that is still a WIP.

With new patch fixed the enemy respawn. man game is super hard. much harder than Shadow of Chernobyl and second only to clear sky (but it was more broken).

Hows the gameplay loop in that one? I love that it renders Chernobyl so beautifully in Unreal Engine 4, but I always get sidetracked I guess when I realise it's more a survival/loot/sandbox game.

Chernobyl has a major problem of repetition. It's more of a base building game where you repeatedly visit smaller areas than a large open world. Although it does have some biggish areas.

I never finished it originally, but I did like it. I will finish it now, it has had many, many updates and content added since I played it.

It's also getting a sequel, which (I hope), knocks it out of the park.

We'll see I guess.

More I play more I enjoy and immersed. this is by far best game I played in decade.

Atmosphere is seriously mind blowing and patch fixed all spawning issues.

easily GOTY 2024.

not mainstream enough for journalists and mainstream media.

Seems like A-life 2.0 was a lie and GSC has removed any trace of it from the store page.

Sounds way too close to what happened to the first iteration of A-life for SoC. They had to scale it down a lot before release back then too. Biting off more than they can chew it seems.

That's what you get for not waiting. I'll be playing a better game than you. 😏
