Just to throwing this out there, "Dumbing the A.I" isn't necessary for "dumbing down the game" from PC to console. A.I virtually (no pun intended) always evolves, no matter what system.FrozenLiquid
It's very unlikely for the AI to remain as smart as it is. Publishers believe consolites will get too frustrated and not buy if they can get slaughtered by enemies while they're looking at the map - they've made assumptions about the audience an it shows in their games.
Considering this "consolite-only" game Halo 3 has A.I to rival that of S.T.A.L.K.E.R and Crysis, and despite the frustrations of hermits believing it so -- it's true. Halo 3 has some of the best A.I in any FPS yet. Oblivion also has some fantastic A.I across the board, despite going multi-plat. What was frustrating, however, was the other features going more streamlined/action-oriented. It wasn't the A.I itself. If publishers believed consolites will get too frustrated to get slaughtered by enemies, then difficulty settings would have been thrown out the window, and Mass Effect wouldn't have shipped over one million units. Neither of those are true, however.Halo 3's AI actually isn't all that great. I don't want to get into a discusson on Halo 3 here, this is a thread about Stalker, but the enemies mostly follow pre-scripted quips and patrol patterns when you're not "in view" of them. Their "interactions" just aren't as complex.
Legendary is hard, but not because the enemies are *smart* and *tricky* - it's difficult because their aim, damage, and health are increased. They aren't particularly more clever on Legendary than any other difficulty, just more likely to land a sticky nade or headshot.

lmao Oblivion AI s*cks
Oblivion does have really bad AI. All of Oblivion's AI is pre-scripted, it's not well written *at all* which causes *tons* of problems if you experiment with the game & mods. STALKER is smart, Oblivion is the kid who sticks his finger in the plug socket fifty times in a row. I need only mention "psychic guards" to understand that this game's AI is poor at best.
[QUOTE="Wasdie"]I seriously need to play this game. Though I heard it runs like crap on Vista.RK-Mara
Really? I never had any problems.
Yeah, I have Vista Business Edition and STALKER runs *perfectly* on my system. I run it in administrator mode. Make sure you have the 1.005 patch and the Float32 mod, (I personally recommend "No Head Bob" as well, unless you don't get motion sick ever) combine all of these and the game has not given me any trouble.
