It looks alright, but not worthy of the hype it is receiving IMO.
would like to see any other game attempt to do half of what star citizen is set out to do. maybe then ill start taking microsoft and sony more seriously
this, for a small summary of what they are trying to do with this game
1. persistent online spaceships simulator.
2. it's has been said by CR himself that the game will attempt to have more simulations aspect than the good old spaceships shooters like Wing Commander, X-Wing, Freespace etc; for example Star Citizen will try to emulate radar system that loosely based on real modern military radar system that can be found in Falcon series etc rather than the usual all seeing sensory system usually found in spaceships shooter, then it will possibly feature optional spaceships complex start up system etc; in the end Star Citizen will be more in common with Strike Commander than Wing Commander/Freelancer as far as Chris Roberts' games being compared.
3. newtonian flight physics system, that more or less similar to those found in I-War series, with some sort of 'fly by wire control' off system you may flip a fighter 180 degree backward while still 'flying' at the previous direction, like the one you saw on BSG tv series for example; again unlike other good old spaceships shooters.
4. complex physics based ships system with customizations options.
5. AAA quality story driven single player campaign with branching story that rival AAA RPG.
6. complete support of pc hardware variety including input and output devices like 4K monitors, multi monitors, 21:9 monitors, Oculus Rift, HOTAS system, Track IR headtracking system, personal UI customization, etc
7. community feedback matters; unlike anything you can found on traditional AAA games.
as I have quoted before, this is not a simple game project designed for profits, this is more of a dream project.
