Sesame Street gets an 8 on GS
SWTOR gets an 8 on GS.Left side = Right side
8=8I need to link common SW knowledge?

So they're the same genre? An 8 for a childrens game equals an 8 for an MMO in your mind? Wow..... (don't look her in the eyes...)
Even if they are both MMO you wouldn't compare the scores directly, Age of Conan got 8.5 here, but the general view would suggest SWTOR being a much better MMO.
Well time has passed. Age of Conan now, at a time when launching with excessive flaws is inexcusable, would not have gotten the same score, I don't think. On the other hand, Age of Conan was, in many ways, a more interesting game, and a better one. And it is one I return to from time to time, because it evolved into one of the finest underpraised MMOGs on the market. Were it not for content gaps and technical troubles, it would have been really something.[QUOTE="ActicEdge"][QUOTE="Slashless"]

Cheers, will have to wait on my laptop charger being replaced (pin broke after a few days of use). Got a 6620g ATI chip which runs a lot of games fairly smoothly, alas integrated laptop GPU's were the limit of my budget at the moment.Does the review staff have a competition on the number of people they piss off with their reviews (more specifically the score)?
Because it must be atleast somewhat entertaining to watch people get mad at your reviews.

I keep intending to visit it again, to see how it evolved, but I never made the final step.
How is the game nowdays?

Were it not for content gaps and technical troubles, it would have been really something.yeah, from what I've heard AOC's problem was the lack of end game content at the time of release, but some reviewers did not even get to end levels, so they didn't actually point that out. Great for them if it did evolve into a better game over time.
Too bad if a MMO evolve into a better product, reviewers wouldn't normally bother to go back to re review it, so a MMO review kind of gets outdated after a year or so.
Also, comparing a great game for kids with a great online RPG is like comparing, oh I dunno. An awesome Pixar movie with an awesome Tarantino movie. Oh, go create your own dumb analogy since I am so bad at them. You get the gist. Great game got score that says "great." OMG CRAZY. But feel free to generate controversy. It entertains me :)

Definitely diggin the editors activity in SW.
Read the review. Seems about what I was expecting, actually a little higher(score wise). Trying to convince my current friends who play WoW to convert to TOR. Looks fun. Keep fighting Kevin.

I wonder now where is this guy , CarlitosWay something , to debate with me again about SW:TOR , how awesome it is and how better than anything else is. Damn , i even predicted the score. 8!! Anyways. I think its well deserved. Not thatgame is bad , its just offers one of the same. The true next-gen mmo that will shake MMORPG community will be GW2. And only that . IF not then the only game i see capable of doin this is TITAN.AzatiS
Blizzard is not that revolutionary, so Titan will shake the community by winning popularity contest, which it probably will, Blizzard has the largest fanbase worldwide. Or maybe they'll surprise this time and have a groundbreaking product, who knows.
Can it even be called an MMO? It's so theme-parky, that kinda misses the whole 'Massively Multiplayer' part, or so I understand with it's focus on instanced PvE and story and the emptiness on the open areas.
But most modern MMOs tend to do that anyway, and any game that tries to be a little different people either hate it or call it a grind.
But I'm sure, casuals will get bored eventually and we will return to the time of non-instanced PvE and open world PvP.
...Who's mad? It's a good score.dreman999
Also, reading your review makes me kind of think you are just another person missing Star Wars Galaxies and therefore criticizing this game for being something Bioware never claimed it was every going to be.
There are certainly things to criticize the game about, some of which you touch on in your last paragraph, like the fact that the gameplay isn't particularly original(to say the least), it is perhaps to single-player focused(I disagree personally, but I can see where that argument comes from), they need to work on keeping enemy mobs consistent throughout, and a variety of bugs(none gamebreaking, but like any MMO there are things to be ironed out), but the three you choose to highlight I would honestly call quibbles and question why those three are enough to drop the score down to an 8.0, which again, I would consider perfectly fair if you had highlighted some of the other things I just mentioned.
So, basically, your problems with the game are:
1)Too much instancing, which I suppose is fair in terms of making the game feel a bit empty at times, but a)instancing is virtually necessary to ensure good immersion into their story, b)helps make sure you don't have to wait around for the thing you need to kill to respawn, and c)is necessary to run a game of this size and visual/auditory complexity on a lot of computers.
2)Too many corridor levels, which is something that happens in all games of any great size, is a common part of the Star Wars Universe in general(go back and watch the movies, long corridors are a popular design choice and a lot of scenes and action seem to take place in them, and ignores the VAST worlds they have created.
3)Space Combat, which they never promised was ever going to be anything save a mini-game at launch, is not diverse enough.
And those three things, which having played the game since Early Access would call quibbles compared to some of the bugs and gameplay problems(none major really) which they need to iron out and that was enough to drop your score of the game down to an 8.0? Really?
