@hardwenzen: Except Nintendo releases their sales numbers, but the Xbox division makes more money.

So, your entire argument is moot based on that one fact.

Don't try to move the goalpost to the gaming division. I don't know if Nintendo makes more, or MS does, and it doesn't matter. We specifically talking about individual games, and MS is hiding them like its UFO coverup.

@hardwenzen: Xbox is 2nd in revenue.

That's also an established fact.

What is the point on listing game sales? MONEY. REVENUE. That's all its about.

If a gaming division is making money, that's almost that matters outside of fanboy wars.

Second in revenue for how long, a month? And if they're making money, i want to know how cuz its not by spending millions to get games on the service, and the service itself isn't even growing anymore.

Knowing that Starfield doesn't have any lasting appeal like Oblivion, Skyrim and Fallout 4 did, i wonder if Bethesda is kinda panicking.

No lasting appeal? VmBro, STOP MAKING SH*T UP. It's getting old, and you're really slipping into "troll" status at this point.

Everything has a shelf life... Lots of mid 80s reviewed games that people play and enjoy then move on... Do you think Sony is panicking about people playing Spiderman for 15 to 20 hours then shelving it? Nah....

Its not the same. Bethesda releases one game per century, while Sony releases a bunch. Bethesda relies on steady income from the likes of Skyrim for a while now, and because of mods and structure of their games, they do get a constant inflow of $$$. Not seeing this in Starfield.

You just compared one studios releases (Bethesda) to ALL of sonys release time table? What kind of madness are you claiming here.... Lol.

Insomniac made Spiderman. Bethesda made Starfield. We will see their next game a few years from now likely.... Same/similar timetable.

The point still stands. Sony doesn't rely on their games selling for a long time, and why would they? No mods support, so there's no longevity there. On the other hand, Bethesda does, and that since what, like Morrowind? Won't work with Starfield.

Oh wait wait wait Mr Dabear. When something negative is in the leak, we pretend its "old" and irrelevant, but when we see a positive, you're making it as factual information? This is not how this works.

The point unfortunately doesn't stand... Sony is releasing games at a much slower clip and spending 3x the cost on development... Microsoft has as many, if not more games in the pipeline right now... If we are comparing financial reliance on releases, microsoft's opportunities are the same as sonys

The only think I have seen that is "negative" that was in the link is misquotes.

The financial analysis was a power point presentation slide. Black and white.

Yes, Sony releases more games, but who's fault is that? If Bethesda didn't rely on a cash cow that is ESO, and re-releasing Skyrim on every fridge, they too might have more than one game per a decade. But again, Sony doesn't rely on long term sales. Pretty sure most of their sales happen within the first month, while "good" Bethesda titles keep selling a lot over the years just like games made by Rockstar. That is why its much more important to a company such as Bethesda for titles like Starfield to be constantly selling for the years to come, and for Sony, its not as important (but lets be real, its not like they wouldn't want that, its just that it ain't happening when there's no mod community).

So Phil himself saying that if they don't grow, they're very possibly leaving the gaming space is a misquote? Dabear its time to stop.

YES! That is a confirmed myth.

Let me ask you - if someone said to Hiroki Totoki "Hey, what would Sony do if they sold 1,000,000 PS5s from 2024-2028"? He'd probably say "Quit the gaming business". That's what Phil Spencer was answering.

The quote was an off the cuff comment to a very poor projection, and you cows ran with it as if Spencer just said "MS is going to exit the gaming market".

I just started playing The Outer Worlds and got off the Edgewater planet. I can't help but feel like this is Starfield but way better. A lot of the space stuff seems to have made it into Starfield. So far space travel is fast travel and you don't control the ship to leave orbit. Not to mention the powers.
