Why is every PS3 exclusive hyped as a GOTY contender? Flop Turismo 5 being the very recent example of what to expect.BlixxedI think Sony has a pretty good track record of meeting hype. Gran Turismo 5 is the only exclusive I've seen from them really flop this gen.
(I'm talking about games developed by Sony's first party studios, not games like Heavy Rain, Haze or Lair - those were all developed by independent studios)

Heavy Rain was fracking phenomenal.
For me, Carnage, any game that is online only is by default mediocre. Online gamers are, by and large, jerks. Playing games with them sucks all the fun out of playing games, with absolutely no exceptions in my experience. The first one just genuinely was mediocre. If Sony wants to build hype, they need a game with better brand recognition than another Warhawk title.SteveTabernacle
I wasn't a fan of the original Warhawk either but I think its bizarre that you jumped into this thread merely to register your contempt for multiplayer only games. Ihave a problem with multiplayer focused games that through in short, sloppy single player mode just for the sake of having an additional bullet point on the back of the box but clearly you relish such games. Suit yourself.
I've stopped playing games where I've run into too many idiots made bold by anonymity (I enjoyed playing Motorstorm online, but I was called the n-word in a single day more times than I've been called that my entire life, so I just decided it wasn't worth it) so I sympathize with your determination to avoid idiots but Warhawk's community is great.
When people talked after a game it was congratulations, not trash talking. What kept down trash talking was the moderators floating around the dedicated servers and the fact that since teams randomly mixed up each round it made little sense to make enemies (might need the guy's help next round). Also, not being popular (its profitable but niche) probably helps (twelve years olds aren't asking their mommies and daddies for Warhawk, which is bad for sales but good for the community).
Also, as you I think the notion that games shouldn't be made unless they sell 20 million copies is bizarre. If not hitting 20 million causes a game to lose money, by all means the designers should move on, but if they find and audience (as Warhawk did) and they have some cool ideas for a sequel (remaisn to be seen) by all means bring on the sequel.
I expect it to be much like Warhawk.
they will release the game it will be good it will take actual skill to fly the starhawks, then they will gimp it within the first update so any thing else then a starhawk will mean certain death because they have overpowered the starhawks.
Warhawk should have been nothing but warhawks no on foot no tank combat because it just paved the way for overpower gimping updates so most maps degenerate into who can get to the warhawks fastest *with most maps only having enough warhawks for 4 people on your team* and who can then hover and spawn camp.
I expect it to be much like Warhawk.

A skillfully flown Warhawk was hands down the best vehicle in the game, but on the flipside, a poorly piloted one would normally get blown up in a few seconds.
Speaking as a guy who favored capture the flag and zones, I though the mixture of air and ground war worked pretty well.
In my experience a lot of guys (including yours truly) preferred being on the ground. There's usually a rush on Warhawks when the game starts, but with sixteen players and three warhawks on base, that doesn't necessarily mean that everyone wanted to pilot one. I became an okay Warhawk pilot because I was pretty much forced into it (if the flag carrier needed support or killing, the quickest way to get to him was in a Warhawk).
I expect it to be much like Warhawk.

When was the last time you tried the game? Because I've been on recently and that's not true at all. The best Warhawk pilots constantly shake missiles without even using chaff.
As most console MP games are. not bad company 2. or halo reach for that matter. or even killone 2. warhawk pales in comparison to these games.[QUOTE="Dead-Memories"]

Ahmahgawd I totally forgot about Starhawk!
Also, I totally agree about the "better than Reach and Skyward Sword" part.
Flame shields at the ready!

Well yeah, it is amazing. But unfortunately hype threads and GS makes it a small flop by SW standards. Kinda stupid but whatever.Starhawk will be graphics king rofl now increase posts to a 1000 lol.johny300Good idea. :P Just trying to spread the starhawk love.
