"State of Decays ambition reaches farther than most $60 titles, so its value is unquestionable as a $20 download especially given how it manages to successfully meet so many of its lofty goals. I spent about 12 hours in this Zed-infested world, and while I saw most of whats there, I couldve spent a few more hours exploring. And since I focused on melee weapons the first time, I fully plan to start another game with a gun-centric character. Meanwhile, startup developer Undead Labs has already said that if State of Decay is successful, it hopes to follow it up with a massively multiplayer online sequel, codenamed Class4. But for now, Decay belongs in the pantheon of great modern zombie games alongside Valves Left 4 Dead series and Telltales Walking Dead episodes."

I'm a bit tired of the whole zombie scene but the game does look interesting so it's a definite ummm, could be maybe. :P

The only zombie game I'm interested in is Plants vs Zombies 2.
Resident Evil is dead to me and the genre is too played out for anything else to pique my interests.
Also, "Jack Burton" is a fantastic user name. To quote a Big Trouble review I read on IMDB: "I've wanted to be Jack Burton every second of every day after seeing this movie. The voices are getting louder."
actually love the look of this game, and is probably the best zombie game to date, at least of a true picture of what a zombie game should be, i'm hoping this does really well and spers other people to look up and realise the potential. plus people talking about the frame rate and stuff, it's still classed as an indie game and they didn't have the budget like top titles do. but i mean look at the games like RE5 & 6 top budget and decent graphics but a poor gameplay and story. shame i don't have a 360 and i don't believe in the pay to get online so i won't be touching this, hopefully something will come out on ps3/ps4, this genre is to good to miss out on.
Thanks pal I drink to keep the voices in my head quiet. The only zombie game I'm interested in is Plants vs Zombies 2.

I'm going to try the demo this weekend. What type of mulit player is there in the game? I'm too lazy to look :P Heil68None. They might patch in coop later and if this is successful they'll create an open world multiplayer game like this.
I want it so bad. I wish it wasn't 10 dollars. NEWMAHAY
You're in luck.
It's 20.
Â

So it's as long as Last of Flop and has more replay value than Last of Flop.:D

It is actually a ton of fun so far from what ive played (4 hours about).
It is rough around the edges (FPS dips and zombies clipping), but its honestly WAY better than I expected. Its like a zombie rpg with aspects of dayz and L4D, I was expecting a dead rising clone, but its actually alot more fun imo.
What a time for zombie fans, The Last Of Us drops soon, State Of Decay just came out, Project Zomboid is almost finished (still having a blast with it even in alpha) and of course The DayZ Standalone coming soon. Glad to be a fan of games and not one system or the other, so I can enjoy them all ;)
Great game put a few hours in very addictive. Game like this with its RPG elements and resource management and a AAA budget would be amazing.Jack-Burton
Yeah I am pretty surprised they only charged $20 for this. With more money, some work on the bugs and maybe some coop this would be even better.
It feels like more of an rpg to me than the usual zombie shooter.

It's too bad, you can see the potential in this game but it won't quite reach it. A bigger budget would do wonders for this game.Â
Was the game ever hyped to be something everyone must have? I don't think so. I highly doubt a indie/arcade game would be. :P That said, 8.0 is a solid score for a game. There was a hype thread by riipas (iirc) more than a year ago for this.8.0 on OXM? lolflop
