Eye candy. I probably should revert back to my old sig though. People seemed to respond to it better. It was the gorgeous Sarah Carter so how could they not right.
anything is better than Skyrim at this point. only mods can save such an eyesore.broeingflop noob post

yeah there's really no need to provide us system warriors with eye candy, i'm pretty sure most of us can attain that ourselves. plus it's just a gif of a hot broad making a dumb face over and over and over and over again......god it drives me nuts.
Nope. KoA will never have the same sense of mystery and exploration that skyrim has. after playing the demo, KoA just seems like a linear hack and slash with RPG elements.

Dude, it's a tiny demo for a huge open world RPG. Of course it's gonna come off as shallow. What do you think a demo for Skyrim would look like? It would be even lamer than KoA's demo.

I couldn't disagree more. Playing the first twenty minutes of Skyrim was far better than the KoA demo.KoA, imo, played like a suckier version of Dragon Age 2 (and we all know how much that game was hated). Why are people giving KoA a pass?

Well I don't think your trolling so that kinda narrows it down...Reckoning was the most generic piece of **** fantasy game I have ever played, nothing but typical and bad fantasy tropes overused. The game lacks substance, and it lacks identity. It tries to be a jack of all trades by including elements from other popular RPGs but a jack of all trades is a master of none. Demo was awful and boring. People are either trolling or delusional.

You do start hack n slashing quickly in KoA...won't disagree there. This is blatantly laughable. Literally every source that's gotten ahold of the full version, not the beta-level demo put out by a third party, have completely disagreed with you. Going to stick with the opinions of people who have played the full game. The real question is why in the heck did they release the demo in that quality?Nope. Why are people destroying it based on a beta-level demo when everyone who has played the full version has prasied it? I actually like what I've played so far, in fact if it wasn't an EA game I'd go out and get it for full price, but they suck so whatever. That said, I'm really not seeing what makes KOA vastly better than Skyrim. I know people have their complaints about Skyrim and they are warranted, but I think people are getting ahead of themselves. I think there are certain aspects of the combat in KOA that are better, but I prefer Skyrims simplicity and ranged combat (bows).

Well I did say "everyone who has played a full version", not just "everyone period." :P
That being said, I never said the game as a whole will suplant Skyrim, I just think it's getting a massive amount of undo critisism based solely on a demo. Also that being said, the bow-combat in KoA seems to be far too shallow, but it should flesh out should you choose to put points into the Rougue skill tree
does it make anyone else laugh when you see "mer! skyrim broken  bethesda bad! whaaa! lazy devs! boo hoo! we mad!" from the ps3 dudes?
i can't lie, i get a kick out of it every time.
anyway as far as topic goes i can't wait to play koa and see for myself if they can pull off an upset on the GOTG.

It sure seemed longer than 5 minutes. That lame wagon ride alone had to be 5 minutes.
Then you have the character creation screen, followed by the execution scene. Cut to dragon attack. Proceed to follow NPC's telling you where to go for 20 agonizing minutes. Skyrim's opening was such a drag.
KoA's actually felt necessary. It gave you the low down on who you are and why you're in your current predicament, it spends some time introducing you to the nice combat mechanics, then it boots you out the door and into the open world knowing everything you need to know. Skyrim could have just as easily started in the middle of the dragon fight and it wouldn't have made a damn bit of difference.

Skyrim's opening was long enough to set the tone then they let you loose after the dragon attack. Let's not even count the character creation because that is a long as you make it.

Explain the significance of the wagon ride and drawn out execution scene. There wasn't any. Stepping out into the world for the first time was enough to set the tone. The rest of it, save for the dragon attack, was unnecessary. And my attention span has nothing to do with it.

I'm not on my knees. The demo was funny. The story, the "deep combat", etc...it's a flop incoming. At least betheseda put their heart into the game, whether you liked it or not. KoA is just lazy and boring.
GrannyGoat
Dat tutorial.
Put their hearts? No wonder they couldn't get the game past alpha stage.
KoA is just lazy and boring? I didn't know you already played and beat the game already.
I haven't played the full game, and I probably won't because the demo was LAZy, BORING, and TRITE. The story was lazy and boring from the get go. I dont' know how anyone can play 2 minutes of Skyrim and say it's not better than the demo or KoA. They're just on different levels. The first two minutes of Skyrim are terrible. That cringy dialogue on the back of the cart is some of the worst in the entire game, and it happens RIGHT AT THE F*CKING BEGINNING.Serves you right for knowingly buying the inferior version.[QUOTE="Stevo_the_gamer"][QUOTE="Master_ShakeXXX"]

no offense, but if you follow gaming, you should've known (i can see people that aren't hardcore gamers not knowing). they only sent out the xbox 360 version for reviews...and when one reviewer asked for the ps3 version, he got the 360 version instead. betheseda knew the ps3 version was not up to par. it was obvious and you should've known better!!!Explain the significance of the wagon ride and drawn out execution scene. Disregarding the rest of the debate, this is terrible criticism. Someone could just as easily say KoA could start in the middle of the conversation with the little gnome profeessor and completely disregarded all the rest of the opening. Obviously, the opening session in both games provides a bit of exposition an a counterpoint the high action the follows. If you'll say Skyrim's cart ride was unnecessary, then the same should be said of the tiresome wading through the opening cave/corridor dungeon in KoA.

The opening of KoA explained your character's existence and purpose, which is pretty crucial. Aside from the whole "omg, the dragon's are back!" in Skyrim's opening, the rest of it just came off as needless filler to me. It didn't help that the dialogue was atrocious, as somebody above already pointed out. But I agree it's a minute complaint. The beginning was the lowpoint of Skyrim and it obviously got better.
It's not hard to believe if you think about it. KoA has the size and depth of an Elder Scrolls game, an infinitely better combat system (yeah, not saying much but still), and, according to IGN, it's not riddled with bugs and glitches like the former mentioned franchise. Now I don't have anything against Skyrim personaly, but I am growing more and more displeased as it continues to become more and more unplayable. KoA is delivering what I wanted in Skyrim, with the added bonus of a badass combat system and best of all, it's looking to be a FINISHED product. Take notes Bethesda, you hacks.

Betarim will fall before the might of Amalur. Sorry, but I'm more likely to get a finished game with Amalur and combat that doesn't suck.
My feelings exactly. I loved Skyrim at first. It was even starting to impress me more than Dark Souls which was my GOTY back in 2011. Around 30 hours though the load times started getting longer, frame rate drops and freezing started to become a normality, and the rest was history. Bethesda are ****ing con-men as far as I'm concerned.
If you love dark souls why would you start getting annoyed at framerate drops?

There was only a few confined areas in Dark Souls that had bad framerate drops. After playing for so many hours the framerate in Skyrim drops to unplayable levels and does so consistently no matter where you're at. It's not even comparable.
