Anyone who hasn't already picked up stalker should do so now:evil:!

Nintendo_Ownes7

I got it last Christmas I think it was only $5 then.

I'm thinking of getting Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines but I don't know if it will work with Windows 7.

It does work on win7,at least the 32 bit wich is what I use.

well i cant get it via retail so i have to play it this way. digital games still suck.

lundy86_4

Really? You didn't seem that perturbed by OnLive in the last relevent thread.

i use onlive as a demo system. Onlive is more like on demand gaming. Steam you have to download install and update the game as well as run it. Onlive does everything for you. Over all Onlive is the better service as it gives you far more then steam ever could.

Yes,you have to install on steam because you actually own the game and have the game on your computer, with onlive you don´t own anything, wich is incidentally, the very reason you use to bash steam all the time.

The scariest game on that list is Scratches. You guys need to get it.

FrozenLiquid
I did :) Watching the trailer filled me with nostalgia of games like the 7th Guest and The 11th Hour. My kind of game :)

Good deal on Overlord. I wish I had me new PC built already. Might have to wait for X-Mas.

They're different services, and I say that as someone with the actual On Live Micro-Console. On Live nothing is local, and nothing ever will be, everything is determined by bandwith, and your library is extremely limited in accordance to theirs and whatever data plan and connection rate you're using. You also need to have a stable connection, anything less means no games, and then there's the problem with fidelity. Just before I bought Cthulhu Saves the World & Beath of Death VII, Space Pirates and Zombies, Serious Sam: The Random Encounter, Zombie Shooter 2, Rock of Ages - and the Indie Royal pack which included 4 games. All for about twenty pounds. OnLive can't do that.currently, and naturally there's the above limitations. Neither can retailers do this at all. And I'm someone who will always rather physical copies.

Your argument about ownership seems a little flawed, considering you actually own something with Steam, and you don't own anything with OnLive.

No, a license. You also pay for a license when you buy any physical copy.

So you support OnLive over Steam, yet actually own less with that service. Makes sense, especially when you criticize Steam for a lack of "ownership".

Onlive is not the same thing its streaming. They run the game for you thats why it will always be a better service then steam. You click on a game and it works right away. no downloads no updates no hardware upgrades.

Yet you keep ignoring my point, which is the same as why you continually rag on Steam. That is the lack of ownership.

Nowhere in my post did I say that they were the same, as they are drastically different services.

Is DMC3 on PC any good or should I wait for the HD versions?

SAGE_OF_FIRE

Wait for the HD version, the port was horrid. I wouldn't mind if capcom released a proper port on the PC since I love dmc3.

I fully back this as well, the game doesn't even properly detect the gamepad buttons. Your right stick moves dante around instead of the left stick for some reason.

On topic, I ended up picking amnesia, dead space pack and the fear pack. Stupid thread lol, making me spend money.

I still dont like digital games but onlive is the better digital. I rag on steam most because of all the hermits who say " omg teh battle feild is not on steam no buy!" or they act like they buy all new games for 5$.

No, you rag on Steam for the lack of "ownership". That is your constant fault with the system. Don't blame this on the Hermits, because your posts have become hypocritical. You criticize lack of ownership, and somehow find OnLive better. What do you "own" with OnLive?

I got Amnesia: The Dark Descent for 2 pounds 60 (why doesn't GS like the pound sign?). Oh god, what have I done to myself?

TheOtherTheoG

Be happy that you are not on my Steams friendlist.
I like to message people who are playing Amnesia at random and it scares the **** out of them :D

'OnLive is the better digital'. And you provided no reasons why, and no counter arguments why. You're wrong. Otherwise entitled types an fanboys will always be the bane of everything, and a lack of reasoning in an argument also will.

Yeah, DMC3: SE is one game were its best played on the PS2. Besides the controls, the textures were slighty inferior aswell. Though it was nice to play it at a high resolution, looked crisp as a crystal. You can use Xpadder or Joy2key to map the controls so they could work well, i used that and i had no problem finishing the game on the PC.

Yeah, but if Onlive goes under, you're left with nothing. All those games you purchased are gone. If Steam goes away, you can still play all the games on your PC. That's a big difference. Onlive is more convenient, but it's not able to play the games at the highest quality like you can with Steam games. If Onlive services are down, you can't play. If Steam services are down, you can still play the games. I'll stick with playing on game consoles. I can play the games whenever I want and when I'm done, I can sell them and trade them in for more games. Something you can't do on Onlive or Steam.

I have Windows 7 64 and it works as long as you install the unofficial patch.

That made me lol. But seriously, it is so much easier to get a game through Steam than a retail console game that requires driving time, searching for the game, stock issues, lines, etc... On Steam, I preload a week early and am playing it within minutes of the launch.
