Steam is giving a free MW2 weekend.

Personally, I don't really like the game all that much, but it's pretty cool that they have things like this.

Steam is amazing, 2 sales a week, awesome free weekends, the best and I mean THE BEST Christmas sales for videogames anywhere, fast service, cloud support, huge catalog of games, achievements, friends list...The list goes on, if MS/Sony/Nintendo want to look at what a real D/L service is, they should look no further than Steam. Also preloading MW2 now.

No you preload it and you can play the multiplayer for free this weekend, as in you get to test drive the multiplayer to see if you like it basically. Kind of like a huge demo, its a shame its MW2 though.

Steam does rock... but not because of this.

I'm sure Steam (Valve) contacts publishers/devs to be able to offer some of their crazy deals... while other games get 50% sales (L4D2 & Borderlands) all released within the same window of last year.... the best Activision could do was to give 2 days of free play time, in attempt to get a few people who havent played the game yet, to impulse buy it,at FULL PRICE, after the 48 hour period is finished.

Anyway... love Steam... buy most of my PC games through them.

Aw, L4D2 was $25 a few weeks ago. It's $30 now. Pretty good deal if you ask me.

If I recall correctly, the DLC will be free on PC, so it doesn't matter when you get the game.

lol I hear you man! Few years ago, I got fed up with Gamestop treating PC games as insignificant, so I pretty much gave Steam my soul :P.

I have found myself buying more PC games than I ever had thanks to Steam. It's just so much easier and cheaper a number of times.
