Stop acting like SMB Galaxy has good graphics............it doesn't

Sooo if i'm getting this right a game can only have good graphics if it's on a powerful system?....Well that dosen't make a lot of sence. From what I've seen this game looks really really good, but thats just what I think.

either its your eyes or your memory. you must have forgotten what sunshine looks like. most people here would agree that galaxy is a good looking game, but its not as good as current 360/ps3 games. the people who hail this game as the next graphical wonder make up a very small amount of the sheep on this board.

I have... and it does look good. But not as good due to the lack of color.

Yes I am. First off are those HD pictures? And I seen videos of Choas Theory. CT look great but it mostly dark in that game. SMG look more colorful then, it also look better artistically, technically it look a tad better.

Saying that SMG looks bad is like saying Okamis graphics sucks...

And who knows, maybe that is the facts..

Galaxy looks and plays great. The visuals are beyond Sunshine in that they are generally more polished. The game appears to run in both progressive scan and 16x9 widescreen modes, for starters. (Incidentally, it also supports Dolby Pro Logic II, once again confirming that Wii will not be able to output in Dolby Digital.) But Mario's animation is improved, and the game has a decidedly more cel-shaded-esque look to it, particularly the smoke particle effects that appear under Mario's feet as he runs and stops. The particle and lighting effects in the demo were top, particularly during the lava boss fight near the end.

As a final note on our playthrough, Super Mario Galaxy is shaping up to be one of the prettier games on Wii, and this demo was no different. Subtle effects such as reflections in crystals, distortion in the water, puffs of smoke when Mario runs, and some of the best textures we've seen in a Nintendo game all help make Galaxy a simply beautiful Wii showing. The lighting is fantastic, and the world seems full of ambient animations that really add to the experience. Character models morph and stretch in ****c Mario fashion, and the overall presentation is bright and crisp. There are still a few oddities with the camera, as you'll sometimes have quick glitches when dealing with smaller worlds or strange gravity changes, but we're more than confident that it's just one of those "E3" things, and that all will be well for the title's release.

I'm amazed ona constant basis that the sheep are hyping SMBGs graphics. They're not that good. I guess a couple of months of playing Wii SPorts will mess up your eyes. Coming from a lemming, if you want to see what a next gen platformer SHOULD look like, you should probably take a peek at the screenshots for Ratchet & Clanks new title before trying to pretend that SMB is "looking good"RickGotti

Nobody is saying it looks amazing compared to a 360 or PS3 game but that it looks a good deal better than last-gen games which is something people said couldn't be done on the Wii. Also the game looks better than a lot of first gen 360 games.

Mario Galaxy looks good for a Wii title but thats about it. It has the same art direction as every single other game featuring Mario since Mario 64 so frankly I'm not too keen on that aspect.

But I will say this..it doesn't look like Super Mario Sunshine, thats an inane and totally false argument against it.

It looks good, for a Wii game, but compared to even the worst looking xbox 360 and PS3 games its unimpressive graphically. Lets hope it can make up for that with great gameplay.MGS9150
