Stop Bashing GTA IV!!

And maybe Rockstar could've taken out the things like Internet and TV, which no one really cared about, and added more areas to the world.

And radio stations suck pretty bad too.

And I'll agree, it was fun the first time through, but after that, there was nothing left to do.

Tuff Gong was genius? Sorry dude I'm a HUGE reggae fan and I say NUH UH. It was all Bob, with the exception of one Damian remix. Thankfully it wasn't stuff from Legend, and songs like So Much Trouble In The World are amazing, but where the **** is the rest of the reggae? As if Israel Vibration, Groundation, Midnite, Steel Pulse, Dezarie etc. don't exist? Why couldn't they put some new reggae on there? They had some crappy dancehall/reggaeton stuff, but I am not a fan.

There are a couple of good stations but comparing them to the music in Vice City or even say Pirate Radio or K-DUST from San Andreas take a healthy dump all over IV's soundtrack. Even GTA3 had some iconic songs like "Push It To The Limit" or the Sean Price/Agallah banger that totally defined the game (we gonna give it allllll that we gooooot, don't stop, keep risin to the top). GTAIV is just missing most of that stuff. The new Mobb Deep and Nas songs are good, but a lot of the music is just crap.

Car controls aren't frustrating. You have to take your time to adopt to the new controls. I'm fine with them. I actually prefer them. Cars feel like they have weight to them, and I like that.

Also, bikes are the same. They're fine, but you have to learn how to handle them.

Characters weren't good? Errr, what? GTA IV had the best characters of any GTA, with an exception of maybe Vice City.

What does GTA do? Um, it improved on the gameplay. Better targeting system, OTS camera, physics, and the whole deal, my friend.

I cared about a lot of the people in GTA IV, because where in previous GTA's they just disappeared, in GTA IV, you could stay in contact.

I agree, Manny was a crappy character, but that's the only one I didn't like.

Tarnished Rockstars name? Fail. Have you seen the sales or reviews? Yup, it's one of their most successful.

And no, I'm not the only one. The reviewers and plenty of fans agree with me, it's just that the haters have the loudest voices. For a game they don't like, they sure do like to talk about it a lot... :|

for sure man, whats funny is that my casual friends absolutely adore the game and see what rockstar were trying to do with the heavy emphasis on characters and the physics and the refined gunplay, where as these haters are looking for some chainsaw rampage crap which imo isnt as fun as the rampages in gta4.

When I pick a favorite game, it's because I thought the complete package was a good and overall fun experience. GTA IV was that for me. I don't expect sequels to be revolutionary. I don't expect different games. I expected a more realistic approach to GTA, and I got just what I wanted.

Some ppl dont like it , never liked GTA franchises. I respect that. But , lets admit that you like it or not GTA is indeed a classic franchise and an AAA (for many AAAA) quality game. So bashing or your opinion , doesnt change the facts.

I'm sick of blind users bashing GTA IV all the time. They always go ^^^^ing about GTA IV because it doesn't have all the things that San Andrease did. I know that and I kinda wanted more in GTA IV BUT you guys don't understand why this game is stripped from that stuff.

Let us go back to the times of GTA 3. GTA 3 didn't have parachuting and tons of cars. They built the engine from the scratch and they updated it more and more in the following spin offs like Vice City and San Andrease.

They did the same thing in GTA IV. They built the engine from ground up so expect more features and side mission stuff in its spin offs (because if RS didn't do more GTAs, they would waste a great series)

Another thing why GTA IV lacked lots of sandbox stuff is RS took the game into a more realistic direction so seeing a tank chasing a bike is stupid or flying my jet around LC and launch lots of missiles is unrealistic. So try to understand.

Well thats what made GTA fun, all the perks, i did not want it to be realistic i just liked having fun with it, the tank was cool, and all the perks you can do to your car. Also they mulated the driving, it used to be fun haveing a high speed car chase. Now you cant even turn on 40 you have to almost stop to turn

Music wasn't as good as Vice City or San Andreas IMO.

The cars and bikes are amazing in this game. I can't believe anyone would say the older ones are better. They feel realistic and weighted when you're driving them,and the satisfying sound of someone rolling across your windshield is better than ever.

Also the car damage is amazing too. Take a taxi and park it diagonaly on a corner of a building. Now take a firetruck and drive it head on at full speed into the side of the taxi. See what happens. :D

Characters are awesome in this game. Brucie.

So yea this game is much better than past GTA's. Still could of used more content though. Can't wait for the PC version.

It has it's upsides online. Try free mode with just friends... Flying a helicopter with freinds inside gunning down (flybys) unsuspecting losers is EPIC.

Get as many guys as you can into a bus, and then driveby some other people.

I still consider GTA III to be the best in the franchise.

Overall I wasn't impressed with GTA IV. I got caught up in the initial hype and found myself addicted to it for the first few weeks. But after time the feeling wore off and I found myself bored and unimpressed with the game.

I don't really get why games should be so realistic. The reason why many people play video games is because they're unrealistic. They break the boundaries of what we can do in real life.

Although it is nice to have a realistic game like GTAIV which is similar to real life, except you can do basically anything you want without consequences.

I never was into the fashion part of the GTA games, so it didn't hurt me. I don't care it the clothing line is limited. I don't care if I can't bling bling my rims. What matters to me is the improved gameplay. That takes first priority. Everything else is just window dressing.

The massive Sandbox elements and Unrealistic-ness from past GTA's is the main thing i liked about them, and GTA 4 doesn't have them.

So although GTA 4 does quite well at being an emotional, gritty story like it was meant to do. It didn't do what it should've and could've done, create a next gen SA style sandbox game.
