HALO3 got AAA because of everything it had to offer.

If JUST the single player was to be reviewed, it wouldn't even get AAA. WHY? because it's mediocre.

The online is great. and the forge and save film make the disc value almost unbeatable (untill the orange box showed up)

Exactly, a great console shooter, if the game was made exclusively for PC, it would have never gotten this much hype, and the scores wouldn't be as good as they are.

But all in all, I do believe it is the best shooter out on consoles ATM, and the previous 2 installments were the best for consoles at their times as well.

The fact of it is, it's because it's such an average FPS that it's so wildly popular. It's simple and accessable. Appeals to a wide audience, especially the casual audience. Casual games make the most money. Just look at Mario, Pokemon and The Sims.

I agree, FPS are my second favorite genre (great mix in with RPG, which are typically overly slow in design).

I've played the best the genre has to offer, and I still consider Halo as a franchise to rank up with the others.

I think you should be glad that a game that scores over 90 % also manages to sell so much. I mean it's not like there haven't been HUNDREDS of average games that scored even lower than 60% and manage to sell a couple of million. You should be happy that a sci fi fps manages to make the news, not because it's controversial or made some kid shoot a high school, no because gamers love it and the newsfolk are interested in knowing more about it. Sure maybe you don't like it as much as other people but you do have to acknowledge the fact that halo is fighting a lone fight out there, a fight for the acknowledgement of hardcore gaming culture.

What the hell ... barely any multiplats on the old system scored the same, the PC versions were always less, Hypothetical? ofcourse it is, based on Hiensight ... now are you going to roll your eyes at history?

Oblivion PC was by far the best but scored lower, HL 2 = 9.2 , Halo 2 = 9.6 ... HL2 = SOTY ... I'm sorry, you can hide behind the new "rounding up/down" system in your .. dare I say it "Fanboy denial" advantage but that doesnt change the reality on how the reviews have always been done.
