Stop the MGS4 Graphics Hate!

Everything else besides textures, I have both games. Try playing the end of act 3 in mgs4 and you'll see what I mean. MGS4 has better detail, animation, and effects.

I wouldn't call GoW2's graphics "better" than MGS4's or vice versa.

They are just different. Both look fantastic in their own way.

The game's graphics get too much hate and too much praise, if that makes sense. It looks amazing -- posting a couple crappy screenshots can't change that -- but it's far from the best looking console game out there.

No in terms of looking "photo realistic" Gran Turismo 5 is #1. In terms of technical graphics it could be either Crysis, Far Cry 2, MGS 4, or Killzone 2.

No...sorry but Gears 2 looks better then MGS4 in all aspects

In fact I could probably think of 20 games that have better visuals then MGS4 beside Gears 2

And overall Gears 2 was the better game as well

I love MGS4, in fact ive only just begun to replay it again (just met Meryl) but its is NOT the best looking console game out there. Some parts do look fantastic, but its let down it too many areas as well. Textures for one. Some textures look great, but i couldnt help but notice while sneaking about that some boxes and walls have N64 era textures...well maybe not that bad, but you get what i mean. Foilage also looks a bit iffy at times, resulting in Act 2 probably being the ugliest. And dont take this as me hating on MGS4, i just dont see how people can think its looks amazing. Uncharted definitely looks better.-DrRobotnik-

Well I guess you have not played the game and watched the cut scenes since they are the best real time cutscenes.

I own the game, and it isnt graphically impressive. Atleast not while your playing the game, the cutscenes look good though.

Still not as impressive as some games on PC.

Just have a look at the screen shot on my page of Crysis. I'll be posting more. MGS 4 is just as good.

MGS4 is a beautiful game, but there are many games out there that exceed it's graphics.

And stop posting off-screen shots.

I see a lot of people posting this same crap picture on Gamespot. Everyone knows the game looks nothing like this on an HDTV. Why can't hater just admit its an awesome looking game and move on.:evil:

I just started playing Metal Gear Solid 4 from start to finsish again yesterday after beating it last August, so the graphics are very fresh in my mind... All I'm gonna say is, even on my crappy Non-HD TV, it looks WAY better than that.

MGS4 is a beautiful game, but there are many games out there that exceed it's graphics.

MGS games have one thing in common if nothing else, its the overall high quality of every element which comes together to form an awesome experience, but if you single out graphics and compare it to other games it wont win every battle.
