Such is life if you are busy looking cool you'll get owned by a "weak coward" and his boys mate. I respect a guy fighting one on one but I can't remember the last time I saw a fair one. If my mate is in it I won't stand by and watch cause who knows what the next man is holding or when Babylon might pop up. Any way I really think this stranglehold blu-ray disc is gonna be the wave of the future. I like extra's and a 1080p movie is one hell of a extra for $10 more.

i don't believe in a fair fight when it comes to fighting either.. i think there shouldn't be a fight in the first place.

as for the extra movie on the bluray disc.. maybe games will get so big a movie won't even fit as an extra.. but all extra content is welcome.

Hey you can laugh but it's a great feature you can't get anywhere else in hi-def for only $10 extra. If you have a ps3 why would you not want this version and if you have a 360 well sorry you can always watch it at your mates yard.

actually i can get a real copy for 5 bucks off the corner or just dl it....

Thats great, but too bad the quality will not be as good as the bluray version and besides it would be awesome bringing some friends over and showing off the game and then be like, hey u wanna watch the movie? Its on the same disk, and just watch them say damn, that is tight. Only people that dont own a ps3 would say it is a crappy idea. I guarantee if this was able to be done on dvd9's alot of lemmings would make a big deal about it. Im not saying it is the best way to go but it definately would benefit off the movie studio's and the game developers. Just imagine if they start doing this with like a big budget movie like lets say Harry Potter, Spiderman 3, Pirates of The Carribean, this could be in favor of both the devs creating the game and the movie. Thats why I think it is a big deal.

Oh yes, I am so sure my friends will be in complete awe at how awesome it is that a movie and game exist on the same disc.....

I have both a 360 and PS3, and this game, let alone the movie, do not interest me. This basically proves the point that BD is not NEEDED for gaming.

SergeantSnitch

What about the people who don't have the movie?

What about the people who don't care about either? Or just want the game? Regardless, this does nothing to prove BD is needed for gaming.

$10 for the movie ? I was hoping for a free movie.

diggyzoom

if it was free, blueray is needed if not is not needed.

remember way back in 2005 when everyone heard price of blue ray games? $70 is too much, unless is a special edition that brings mad stuff like action figure, soundtrack, map, etc.. that's worth more than $10 bucks right there then.

While its not necessary, I think it's pretty cool that they included it.

My only beef would be that if you didn't want the movie, you have no option. You MUST pay the higher price.

Vampyronight

no it is a COLLECTERS edidion, i mean threre still will be a a normal version

Digital Distribution FTW!

That, and Blu Ray will be short lived... In a few months, we'll see the true next generation of file storage...

Ontain

digital distribution is a naff idea, they said that computers would replace paper and that never happened. People dont want to spend big money on a mass storage device, and can you imagine the sucky restrictions on that kind of software, no lending it to your mates and no selling it on when you dont want it any more and player compatability issues coming out of our ears. Digital Distribution is bad for consumers and just another way for big companies to control us and try and tie us down to their individual products, no thanks.

what do you think DRM and HDCP are doing too?

These things are exactly the reason I dont want any of this stuff. I dont download bad sounding mp3 files and ont want to purchase anything that I cant do whatever I want with (within reason). I always sell my games on e-bay after Ive had enough and I dont want that to stop. All this on top of thigs like Sony trying to slip root keys in on you and I'm not trusting anything that I cant physically hold in my hand as a stand alone product.

While this movie/game combe idea is cool, and will honestly make me consider the PS3 version of this game over the 360 version, it's not an example of how Blue Ray helps gaming... it's an example of how consumers, when asked to pay an additional $200 for a console, will then happily pay an additional $10 to buy a movie along with their $60 game in order to justify their initial $600 purchase.

You couldn;t be further from the truth.  The only people that would buy this based off of the extra movie add-on is because they are fans of the movie.  There may not be a ton of people looking for this but it is an added feature.  What if the Godfather game came with an HD copy of the Godfather movie?  The game would still be a crappy port and a copy of GTA but it would have one kic butt HD movie on it.  And it would have sold like crazy too.

Here's the point of this thread....... are you ready?  Can 360 have a game and the movie the game is based on, on one disc in HD??  No.

No it can't.  But then again, we only had to pay $400 for our console, so we have an extra $200 to buy several movies if we want.

And along the same lines: Can the PS3 stream movies (of any file type, mind you... Xvid, AVI, Quicktime... HD, SD... whatever) from your computer to your PS3?  No.

We don't need a pc to stream things we just install ydl and presto media center that plays everything in hd from the hard drive.

So let me get this straight...Sony is desperate enough to make software sales on the PS3 increase, that they're starting to include blu-ray movies with their games? And this is supposed to scare 360 owners why? I want neither blu-ray nor hd-dvd at the moment, so I don't want any blu-ray movies (even including movies starring the great Chow Yun-Fat), period. I'm sorry, but when I buy a collector's edition game, I want something related to the game, not a tacked-on movie. I didn't like this idea when Call of Duty 3 did it, and I certainly don't like it now. Maybe Sony should work on including a PS3 console with Stranglehold, instead. That might increase the user base (although it might also drop Stranglehold sales ;))...

Yeah backing up hdtv and blu-ray eats alot of space but really mate you could erase things you don't use anymore. You must have a iron palm with that much p0rn on your pc rofl.

I'm sorry, what hardware does the 360 have that allows it to play next generation disc media?  What hardware does the 360 have to output a completely digital signal?  What will your next Xbox console, five years from now, cost?  And how much will both the 360 and that console cost when compared to the $600 I spent on my PS3?

My computer has 700 GB of movies (including Hard Boiled) and music saved on it (and it's full, btw) and I don't have to redundantly save it on my PC and my console. donalbane

Oh, you're one of those, huh?  Whatever movies you downloaded from torrents that were copied from DVD do not amount up to the same quality a blu-ray movie does.  No way, no how.  Impossible.  Unless, you cracked a blu-ray disc and copied that to your HDD.

Yea he got some rubbish irc or torrent file saved with stereo sound and subs probably of hard boiled. I have a few blu-ray movies backed up and even compressed they take up 5gb or more with excellent quaility no way with you find that on the web with dts 32bit 7.1 surround sound.

While this movie/game combe idea is cool, and will honestly make me consider the PS3 version of this game over the 360 version, it's not an example of how Blue Ray helps gaming... it's an example of how consumers, when asked to pay an additional $200 for a console, will then happily pay an additional $10 to buy a movie along with their $60 game in order to justify their initial $600 purchase.

dubvisions

No.

True, the 360 can't play blu-ray. But for $480 you get twice the hard drive space of a PS3, and you get a "completely digital signal" (OMG YAYZ!!!!). I should also state that my VGA is working great for me though, thanks. So you're trying to say that in 5 years there will be a new Xbox, but there won't be a new PS3? Well, I guess that makes sense, considering the 360 is selling better than the PS3 right now, Microsoft makes a profit on the hardware, the games sell like crazy, Xbox Live is a huge success, and more and more developers are jumping on the Xbox bandwagon (with Square being the latest). In five years when the PS3 sells for $200 and I buy one, how much better will I feel that I saved that extra $400 and bought a 360 in 2006?

*Okay fine, maybe not $200. But you've got your crystal ball, so I've got mine. ;)

But it is possible to "acquire" by those methods full quality dvds, HDDVD's and Blu Ray content with all those features... Just not Blu Ray as it hasn't been cracked yet... But it will soon enough  though I strongly advise to avoid piracy of any means...

The OSS community is quite persistent... NOt because they want to pirate anything, no, but they want to be able to play whatever media they want in whatever player they want...

Like how I prefer playing media under my linux install, where the media players support a crapload more features than even stand alone, physical boxes can ever dream to support...

That, and whenever there's an update in anything, all I need is a new card, or a new download of whatever, and I'm done. No new expensive hardware required...

I guess you don't know the power of bit torrent... or UseNets...

The power of the torrent has nothing to do with the quality of the file.  And for you to even say that shows your ignorance.  Yes, you can take a crap DVD copy and compress it wonderfully in the greatest torrent file known to man.  na dit will download beautifully, like no other before it.  It will be on your HDD, ready to view.  You'll double click on it and......it looks like a crap DVD copy.  Good job!!!

Wha, wha, what????  Again, what does internet connection speed have to do with quality?  And yes, it is almost impossible for you to find a movie of blu-ray's quality on the internet.  Remember, just because you may have uncompressed copies of compressed audio doesn't mean its uncompressed, son.

Hey you can laugh but it's a great feature you can't get anywhere else in hi-def for only $10 extra. If you have a ps3 why would you not want this version and if you have a 360 well sorry you can always watch it at your mates yard.

They could give it to you as a download trough xboxlive... It's still possible.. PWNT

You continue not to read my posts completley... It is quite easy to open a file in a hex editor and determine whether or not it's been compressed, and what method of compression was used... It's not exactly rocket science...

And two, you said it's impossible to find good quality? First off, there are HDDVD's avaliable, and they are as good quality as Blu Ray as of now (as we're still only in HD, and not UHD which even Blu ray can't handle),

Compression comes in many, many, many forms. Some are lossless, some are lossy. Which is one reason I shun mp3's and support OGG FLAC, and H.264whenever possible...

I don't even know why I'm bothering explaining this at all since for one, I don't condone piracy, and even if I did, although, I don't like seeing blatent inaccuracies...

Just saw that last post...  How would it be any different if it's the same source material, using a lossless codec, DTS-HD is all digital, as is anything that can be placed on Blu Ray, so there isn't any reason for any quality difference at all...

$10 for the movie ? I was hoping for a free movie.

BrooklynBomber

espically when its a movie where u can get it for less than 10 on ebay

It's all about quality or I would still be watching bootleg vcr tapes for $1. I remember when laser disc came out and my uncle showed me quality matters. Now after spending over 5 thousand pounds on my home theater why would I stick that rubbish in it.

your sig... who are the two cowards?

Who the two guys that got proper snuffed while acting like they had the minerals??

Sorry but anybody who sucka punches anybody is a coward. Catching somebody while they're not lokking is a load crap. One thing I learned growing is that, you fight one on one. Never sucka punch anybody, it only means your afraid of standing up to him face to face. I've had many fights, and you never sucka punch a person, you let him know you want some. And then really show him what your made of, anybody can sucka punch somebody. But can you stand toe to toe in the ring is what makes you a fighter. I declare those fools SUCKAS!
