This is courtesy of GeoNeo on NeoGAF. He tested the final, retail, patched version 1.01. It appears as though the PS4 version of the game has significant problems.

So with SFV coming out today and many people excited and looking forward to picking the game up I must say I'm really pissed off that a game that is supposed to made for the competative scene has problems as the ones I will list below. (Tested in Final Retail 1.01 patched SFV)

Frame Drops on some stages:

Some of the stages will simply drop frames when the action heats up this fucks with competitive play a ton when having precise inputs is critical.

Digital Foundry if you're reading this to show this in action simply pick the Russia stage pick Bison pop V-Trigger and go for one of his combos to see the framerate drop a test on all the stages would be great. I don't have the capture gear to show this off.

Poor implementation of the LabZeroDriver:

Already seeing reports of input lag when it comes to the implementation of the driver and how insane the menu is to simply get it working. End of the day this will force tournaments to ban PS3 sticks. We have already seen talk of this on twitter from tournament organizers. This is huge in a community where not everyone has the money to cough up for brand new sticks or pads.

Jeff Gertsmann notes some other, more fundamental problems with the title:

What I don't understand is, with all the money Sony put into securing and backing this game- how could Capcom mess this up again? Especially after the Ultra Street Fighter 4 debacle on PS4 last year?

I've not been able to connect the PS3 controllers but I've never had slowdown in the game, might boot it up to see again.

I hope this isn't true or that they fix this really really soon.

Street Fighter V is the most important game of the generation for me.

I've not encountered these issues personally (put nearly 20 hours in already).

The only issue I've had is with it deleting my account when I turn it off and I end up losing my fighter points.

One of the most anticipated games of the year. And this is where we are. An EXTREMELY barebones story mode. Reports of PS3 sticks not working right(my stick cost $235 for PS3...not buying another one for PS4).Frame rate drops in a tournament level fighter. And it can all be yours for $59.99!

Hmmmm.... I'm sure it will get patched. Afterall, Capcom did say by themselves that SFV would support PS3 fight sticks. Seems like launch issues to me.

Good thing I got this for PC. By the time I get the PS4 version these issues will be ironed out.

I'm very surprised by this, however it seems the actual gameplay is rock solid, so assuming these technical issues can be eventually resolved, it should be fine.

Launch issues make it more and more trivial to be an early adopter. Higher cost for faulty goods does not a happy boy make.

I've had the game since Friday, I've come across very little frame rate issues. There is a lack of game modes for sure but I don't know what he is talking about with frame rate issues.

Classic case of catering to the 1% of your fanbase. While you need to make sure the hardcore fans are happy if you want your game to have a dedicated fans, you also must ensure you please the wider audience. Seems they didn't do that this time around. The resources got spent on the hardcore players.

The framerate dips and stick compatibility are issues with Capcom. Could be a limited budget, rushed release date, or poor project management. Probably a mix of a few. Sony could have pressured Capcom to get it out quicker and cheaper, but that's about it.

I remember SFIV not being the greatest at launch either then Capcom milking the series with followup versions. Historically Capcom has been the issue here. I would put more blame on them.

@charizard1605: well yeah it's usually for balance and networking, but I would think the performance issues would have been noticed and fixed. Unless the beta ran better than the final version (a la BF4)

There won't be an NX version, Sony funded this game. What you're saying is as ridiculous as fans who keep hoping for a Bayonetta 2 port.

Yes, absolutely- this is not about Sony at all. This is about Capcom, and their poor management of their biggest series.

@charizard1605: This is a real shame. Street Fighter is a storied franchise with a devoted following (many of us have been playing Street Fighter games for several decades now) and deserves better. I'm not buying this until a proper "story mode" or "vs cpu" is part of the package. Comon' Capcom, shesh.

It may be a big deal to others, but I dont mind the lack of a cpu ladder on release. I never play, I stick with training mode and vs.

The other option was hold back the game another month when the main foundation of gameplay, and the mode 90% of the players use, is already in place.

Well, that was seriously Capcom's one last shot to get on their feet. Even if it sold well I had doubts since Sony was the publisher they were likely going to take a lion's share of the profits. Maybe we should start having that discussion of who Capcom should start auctioning off its IPs to.

LOL this is hilarious reading. Just a few months ago Sony was a God, there would be no SF5 without them. Now that there are problems with the game its all Capcom. Maybe the budget a broke company gave them wasn't all that?

There are no difficulty settings. It has a laughably easy and short story campaign for each character. And by short, I mean they can last anywhere between two and four fights from beginning to end... based on my experience, you can complete everything in the story mode, for all characters, in less than an hour total, by doing nothing more than repeatedly sweeping the legs of your opponents.
