[QUOTE="majadamus"][QUOTE="Panther501"] they are going to say its worth it and then insult psn because it is missing some minor featuresdthach614

Yes, of course. I presume the paid for service, X Box Live, has less lag. It should. I bet a few lemmings will say that without playing on both systems.

FALSE

Xbox live is peer to peer. Xbox live does not have less lag.

Umm...peer to peer is perfect for head-to-head. Two players with no middleman, so the lag would be less in such a scenario.

For the people complaining about having to pay 50 bucks a year, i work 3 days a week at a grocery store part time, and make tripple that every paycheck. im 16, seriously some of you guys sound like bums.jeezers
That's because you've never had to pay bills. Paychecks go real fast once you have to deal with the rent, the power, the water, the sewage, the communications lines, the car insurance, the car payments, medical copays and deductibles...and did I forget the groceries?

and 50 bucks is nothing compared to all that, its for a year, if your an adult and can't afford something thats less then $5 a month, you suck at managing money. Its even less if you get the card on sale lol.

And I have a kid going to a private school in Manhattan. Doesn't matter. Many of us have bills to pay. Compared to those bills, $50/year for really is a drop in the bucket. Really, if that's the thing that's going to make or break you, you have more problems on your hands than online gaming.

It's $50 a year... I mean people who work part-time at McDonald's can afford that

Really? You must be talking about people that live at home.

Even if it's no big deal I'd rather take 50.00 and put it to a game as opposed to just paying to get online but to each their own. Never met a group of people that didn't mind be nickle'd and dimed like 360 owners.

Are you serious? Becuase if someone can confirm to me xboxlive is better concerning SF4, I will go and return my PS3 copy. If I create a game getting a game is fine, but trying to join one is impossible. Everytime I try joining, it tells me unable to join game is already full, or simply unable to join, wtf is that? This is utter bs... i hate playing from the left side of the screen so this is a problem for me.

IMO both cows and lemmings shouldn't be bragging bout their online services. one service isn't "laggier than the other" because that depends on YOUR connection. Microsoft may have more features, but, like everyone said, it's $50 per year unlike PSN and the PC services(even the Wii's). PSN has less features that are not needed, and it's free. however, $50 a year is really easy to pay. I mean cmon middle schoolers can make that kinda money. so really in the end... THEY'RE BOTH EQUAL. NOTHING TO BRAG ABOUT. JUST MOVE ON YOU EFFIN FANBOYS

[QUOTE="Videodogg"]Well, i bought it for PS3 as well. I am satisfied with it, but, there is one thing that bothers me. I played nearly 60 matches online today and not ONE person had a microphone. I am sure the 360 players were chatting it up during matches. The microphone is the most usless accessory on the PS3.Panther501
would you prefer to have 15 year old boys screaming at you while you play?

I must say I must be one of the lucky people who very rarely encounters these pre-pubescent monsters cows find everytime they log on to xbox live. Maybe its a karmic thing? :P

lol these threads are funny, i'm sure people went out and bought an xbox live subscription primarily for street fighter 4, then after buying it felt really bitter knowing they could get it for free. that's why i paid for my live subscription and buy all online games for ps3 because when i play, i know i'm playing for free lol.

I don't understand using including the Price of Live with every game here. I mean I would have paid for live regardless of having SF IV or not. I like playing SF online but I've yet to touch ranked. I just haven't had the time to play online much trying to get all the characters and playing locally.

[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"]Eh, when I first bought the game I was really into it. The more I play it though the more it devolves into a game of chance and stacking certain characters.Vandalvideo

Dont you hate the fact that everyone online freaking pics ken. I mean come on people varity. I mean I just smile with joy when i see bison or somone who isint ken playing.

Yeah, its lame. I use Dan and Fuerte, but I'm at a natural disadvantage because of their moves, and people just spam the same retired combos over and over.

You know moves spams are easy to counter?

Speaking of playing locally....

PSN is the only way you can play against someone with their own PSN account.

You and a friend both have PSN IDs. He comes to your house to play so both of you can work on some trophies. How do you both play on the same console, each playing under our own PSN IDs?

If I'm wrong or if there is a way to do it, I'm more than happy to be corrected.

But these kids on System Wars can't. While I do agree it should be free, my above comment remains.

FALSE

dthach614

Umm...peer to peer is perfect for head-to-head. Two players with no middleman, so the lag would be less in such a scenario.

lol

peer to peer is bad for head to head. cause whooever host have an advantage.

LOL @ LOL Ever heard of the KISS principle? Two people over as direct an Internet link as possible is the simplest connection possible. That minimizes lag to the absolute minimum possible; not even PSN can do better between two people. BTW, don't be surprised if the PS3 version's confirmed to go P2P when the action starts, too, for the same reason. Simple is good, especially when it comes to response times. Putting anything in between will only increase the lag. And as for the supposed "host advantage", which would probably be small (and considering I can't find complaints concerning host advantage with VF5, probably the tightest of games when it comes to timing), I would imagine compensations are already in use to minimize whatever little's there.

PS. Also, fighters are pretty quick to sync (compared to say a shooter) because the number of things to track are limited.
