Sunset Overdrive:No plans for PC right now but not ruled out

Sunset Overdrive developer Insomniac Games currently has no plans to bring its over-the-top Xbox Oneaction game to PC, but has not ruled out a release for computers sometime down the road. Speaking withVideogamer, Insomniac Games marketing lead James Stevenson said about a potential PC release: "We'll see."

[And if you guys didn't know the developer shot down a petition for the game to come to PS4 so you can probably kiss your hope good bye]

"I don't know what the future holds," Stevenson said. "Right now there's no plans for a PC version of the game. We're just working hard to finish up [the Xbox One version]. We're going to support it post-launch and then we'll see what happens in the future. But there's no plans. We aren't planning a PC version or anything like that."

Sunset Overdrive launches October 28 exclusively on Xbox One. You can buy the game that day by itself or through a $399 Xbox One hardware bundle that includes a white system, matching white controller, and a copy of the game. The system's release will mark the first time Microsoft has offered a white system to non-employees.

If Sunset Overdrive does eventually come to PC, it won't be the first game announced as an Xbox One exclusive to make the jump to computers. Xbox One launch title Dead Rising 3 is now available on PC, while another launch game, Ryse: Son of Rome, is headed to PC this fall.

Honestly I would like to see the xbone actually have some exclusives. But aren't they making a streaming service to browsers now?

they should put asterisks next to all Xbone 'exclusive' titles

Translation : We are not allowed to say anything until it is out for Xbox consoles for few months .

Anyway , I think Xbox One needs exclusives and I don't mind if the game is only going to be on Xbox One and Xbox 360 .

Tomb Raider should have stayed exclusive. Sunset Overdrive should STAY exclusive.

Why should I buy and keep an Xbox One if none of the games are exclusive?

If there are no worth while TRUE exclusives, there is no reason to buy an Xbox One.

Honestly only a fanboy would care - this wouldn't make Xbone any less relevant and PC gamers deserve some games too.

In other words, if they don't gain back the capital they spent making the game on Xbone then it'll come to PC.

Sounds like the game will be on PS4 a few years into the gen, with additional content.

It seems that these third party devs doesn't trust MS with their games. Thats why most of them come to PC sooner or later.

xbox games with IPs not owned by MS can definitelly end up on pc, like SO. But PS? Yeah, MS's gonna fund games, not own the IP to allow them to reach the direct competitor platform

Well there not going to say its coming to pc straight away when they haven't released the xbox one version yet. That would mean many people would just wait until the pc version comes out instead of getting an xbox one to play it.

This game looks great.

heres what going to happen, game is going to sell decent (1m) and then a year later pc version will be released.

Why.....Why did I buy an Xbox one.... Shits seriously getting out of hand. MS can't hold on to their exclusives and this really diminishes the reasons to buy one.

Yeah I get where you're coming from but unfortunately that's not for everyone. But as history dictates once the "hey we haven't ruled out PC" it means it's coming..... It's really not a matter of "might" anymore it's a matter of when....DR3, Ryse.... And I'm willing to bet SoD is next.

Yeah, Microsoft is not very good at maintaining a proper exclusive library. It's probably the thing I dislike most about their consoles.

Also, I'm not against games going to other platforms. The more people play it, the better, but at the same time, the exclusive library is what sets these two apart.

I am with you...I would rather have the X1 exclusives stay exclusive....but MS is in the PC business as well. And MS did say they were going to focus on the PC also. This looks like their strategy....games will be exclusive until the sales pretty much die down and then port to PC.

I game on all platforms ( except the WiiU ) and I know the PC is the best but I would rather play the game instead of hoping and waiting.

MS does NOT make royalties on PC games unless published by them.

Well they better buy the IP's then lol but that's the only reason Insomniac went to MS is so they could own their game. I guess this way everyone wins, X1 owners get it first and PC only gamers can enjoy it at an undetermined later date.

I really liked how dead rising 3 was a xbon exlusive and it was not coming to ps4 or pc.

Anyway these guys havent touched pc, so thats the only think that it doesnt confirm the pc version.

I want this game to get 10/10 so the ponies will stop bashing it because they cant have it.

I expect maybe six months tops

The problem is.. most gamers have capable PC's (if purchased over the last few years) so this negates the reason to own a XBO.

I doubt it would come out for PC if Microsoft was really worried about it. Microsoft simply doesn't seem to see exclusives (beyond Halo and Forza) as important to their sales, and Sony and Nintendo do. If you bought an XBOX one because of exclusives - after Microsoft loosing exclusives, or just abandoning them - then, well, sorry.

Personally, I think Insomniac should move on to more important things.

They can do whatever they want with the game, all thanks to Microsoft and their deal, lucky for them as Sony wanted to cripple the game to one system.

A lot of gamers out there own at least one console for exclusives and at the moment the PS4 is that console. When you look at MS's exclusives, you know that there is a 85% chance it will be on PC at some point. Just look at Dead Rising 3, I know many of my friends held off on buying an X1 because they knew it would come to PC and they were completely right. Sony for the most part keeps its exclusives, ya know..... Exclusive.
