Both games are damn fun and definitely worth a look, but if I had to pick one. I'd go with Sunset Overdrive. Although keep in mind, the humor and style aren't for everyone.

Infamous: Second Son is more fun IF you decide to go Infamous. I suspect 99% of the people here decided to be a Hero instead, and that's a big mistake, imho.
The game is a million times more fun as soon as you break free of those bonds, go "**** it" and just start blasting everything in sight. It's like Crackdown, only better in every way.
I haven't played SO but Infamous SS was only fun for the first few hours. It was bland and repetitive.
Infamous Second Son is great if you like the previous games though the side missions are pointless as is the case with all Infamous games. I often wonder if the Infamous crew get their mission ideas from Assassin's Creed incredibly pointless filler crap.
SSOD is Infamous for the under 8's. Wii U fans will probably love it.
Cant say for sure, because only a stupid lemming would own an xbone anyway. From vids of SO its looks like a tryhard memeland with extremly slow movements, meh. So I would go with Second Son even if it had less filler.
I would love to see some prove of some of the lemmings in this thread like @speedfreak48t5pand Funkmaster1233 that claim they played both games.
in4ba I played on a friend console/ I sold the game.
I haven't played Infamous 2, but I don't really care to because only a stupid cow would own a console with no games. Just a couple movies labeled as video games..
@SolidTy It aches me that a pro like you judged the game without probably knowing you can use RB for massive speed boosts and without ever experiencing this mid-air dash that makes traversal crapload more fun (it isn't immediately available).
And a message to anyone who thinks SO is slow: it isn't. But if someone doesn't have skill it might seem so. And in such case it doesn't look like a lot of fun.
Anyway, I can't really compare them and Sunset isn't without its flaws but I really don't care about Second Son anyway. It's probably a solid, technically sound game, just not the one I'm interested in.

I'm confused, all I said in this thread is:
This question was asked like four days ago and I answered then....
I'm sure i've seen this same thread a week ago.
Yep.
You must be referring to something I said in a different thread?
I wish you would have brought me up in the appropriate thread, truth be told, just so I can reference what you are talking about. I have so many conversations, and I just am not sure what post you may have read.
I know Sunset is an 81/100 at metacritic. I know it's a decent game and I like the developer. However, Insomniac made a game in a genre I've never been fond of, despite the increasing popularity of sandbox games. I prefer FPS, RPG, RTS, Fighting, Action, and Platforming. Luckily, Sunset has a bit of the platforming I like, but not enough to captivate me in my initial experience...at least at $30-$40 price point I saw it for.
Unfortunately, I don't know what I said back then in whatever thread you may be referring to(?) but I do know my general feelings on the 24 Sunset trial I experienced. I definitely racked up some achievements in the game to a point.
To be fair, I've never been a fan of sandbox games, no matter how great they are; they are just not my cup of tea ever since GTA3. I liked GTA3 back when it was hot shit in 2001, but it certainly wasn't my favorite game that year unlike what seemed to be everyone else. Of course, no sandbox will ever be my favorite type of game. I beat many sandbox games though and I plan on picking up Sunset when I see it for $20. If the Sunset 24 hour trial had wowed me more, I probably would have bought it this year. I have so many games to beat though, I'll crank away at my backlog and definitely revisit Sunset next year when I can give it my full attention. I haven't given up on the game, but it's just not impressed me to go out and buy it, especially with so many PC/Wii U/PS4/Xbone/3DS/Vita/PS3 games to play. If I was basically using my Xbone as a main gaming machine, I most definitely would have beat the game by now, but I'm juggling all the machines.
I'm glad you are enjoying the game though. It's always a warm feeling to have a game you love ready and waiting for you after a hard day's work at the job or school. I have a few friends that also dig the game, maybe I'll do swap and get to borrow sooner. Have a great rest of 2014, friend. :)
