You might not know this so I'll throw ya a bone. Wikipedia can be edited and changed by anyone. This pretty much takes away its credibility as a solid resource for fact.

Then again, anything you add to any given article will be checked and re-edited or reverted to its previous version if you wrote a bunch of nonsense, and this usually happens within a few hours,a day at most.

So where exactly are those numbers coming from? I guarentee you the person who wrote that has no more knowledge about Mario Galaxy's pre-orders than you or me.

If Nintendo had those kind of numbers to boast, they wouldn't be releasing them on Wikipedia. Nintendo hasn't made any official announcement regarding Mario Galaxy's pre-orders.

Also, I seriously doubt this is even the Wii's most pre-ordered game. SSBB is easily more popular.

The first link isn't working, and the second one is by the word of Gamestop employees, meaning the guys behind the counter. Weren't these the same guys who said Halo 3 had 4 million preorders?

I don't doubt Mario Galaxy has a lot of pre-orders, but I'm not too sure about the validity of those numbers. Regardless, it definately doesn't have a shot at the first day sales record.

Entirly possible, but I don't think it will. Halo fans(myself included)were insanely devoted to getting Halo 3 as soon as possible. I don't think as many of the Wii owners havethe samegumption to obtain SMG instantly. SMG will probably outsell Halo 3, but I don't think it will beat the first day sales.
