Super Mario will probably be the better game but both will score like a AA.

A) Which one looks more innovative?

I would say LBP. Yes SMG is a Mario, but who can beat your own map maker on a console, with some of the best physics I have ever seen?

B) Which one looks more fun?

Depends on the person. I say LBP entire physics and modify on the fly thing.

C) Which one do you think will score higher on GameSpot?

D) Do you like tacos?

A) Which one looks more innovative?

Physics games have been done but I haven't seen a game where center of gravity plays an important part in gameplay. Mario wins out.

B) Which one looks more fun?

LBP looks like a developer's game. If you want to create stuff, that'd be your game. Mario is more of an actual game that's not relying on user created content. Mario wins again.

C) Which one do you think will score higher on GameSpot?

Not sure. Ask me again when they are both released.

D) Do you like tacos?

Tacos are pretty awesome.

A) Which one looks more innovative? LBP, the physics, the level creation, the multiplayer fun B) Which one looks more fun? Hard to say, they both look fun, but for now I'm more interested in LBP because it's entirely new. We already know mario by now. C) Which one do you think will score higher on GameSpot? I think mario will have some control and camera issues (just like sunshine), I think LBP is going to score higher because it's totally fresh & new. D) Do you like tacos? No, I don't like mexican food in general, I prefer chinese.

Does LittleBigPlanet an entire game plus a level editor, or are you expected to do nothing but make levels yourself with others?

From what I see, LBP relies on user created content. So if the game flops community wise, it'll simply lack legs to stand on.

I was more referring to whether it's an entire game or not, and not necessarily examples. A game that can be beaten with level progression and not just a few demo stages.

1) Little Big Planet.

Center of gravity is good idea, but platform game on sphere ground doesn't seem that innovative, while Little Big Planet has very interesting game controls using analog sticks which allows players to control their characters to much deeper depth than any other game I've seen before. Also innovative map design, online service, etc etc etc tops just about any game in innovation.

2) Little Big Planet.

Large part of fun in games is often level design and this is a shame but co-op gameplay has enhanced fun greatly in the old days. These days, games are too concentrated on competition than co-op which I think is a shame, and Little Big Planet has very interesting co-op play. By offering unlimited level design and good co-op gameplay, I think Little Big Planet has more potential in terms of fun than Super Mario Galaxy.

3) Super Mario Galaxy.

I seriously doubt Mario game that took quite of effort from Miyamoto would ever fail, so review score will be very high. Also large part of fun in Little Big Planet would be based on user created level, so it would be little more difficult to review the game when the game is released.

4) Taco makes me fart, so I don't eat it often.

A) Which one looks more innovative? Mmmm...tough, I think LBP looks innovative and SMG also looks innovative, so TIE

B) Which one looks more fun? SMG by far, LBP doesnt have any enemies (at least in the level they showed) and it only has puzzles using the game's (amazing) physics, which arent that fun for me. SMG looks FUN all the way.

C) Which one do you think will score higher on GameSpot? Probably SMG but who knows with GS weird ratings:P

D) Do you like tacos?Of course I do:P and other kinds of mexican goods

I also forgot to mention that Elebits for the wii had a map maker and you could share it with friends with Wiiconnect24 plus it also had good physics.

Well, the developers will have levels they make as well. In the video it shows different categories based on who made the level. There was a whole developer category. So don't worry about that one.

I have a lot of questions about how well the entire concept of LBP will work in terms of an actually genuine platformer, but I'll mention that Space War was released (well, created) 45 years ago with centre of gravity as pretty much the entire part of the gameplay (not that a puzzle level editor hasn't been done before. Or even with the use of physics for the puzzles)

However there is a difference in feeling between playing something from your buddy and playing something from a developer. If LBP is supposed to be a game where it's user defined, having it rely on developers defeats the purpose.

To bring up Space War is really grasping at straws to draw comparisons to SMG, to be honest. Both games are nowhere near alike.

While Little Big Planet looks awesome, some people are thinking it has very advanced physics.  It uses physics well and smoothly, but it's not like games couldn't do that years ago.

I can praise SMG because I know what a Mario game plays like. I can't mindlessly praise LBP because I haven't played it and what they shown has it's own set of problems.

Stop complaining about constructive criticism. I'm addressing things that are valid. If you want to walk around blindly ignoring potential problems with LBP, that's not my problem.

simply put. LBP is basically like flow. it seems fun for a second, till you realize its not fun as you thought it was, or would be. it looks like something you play for a second, thanks to the physics, but thats the main focus of the game. its definitly like flow, where you eat and grow, main focus of flow is evolution.

people think the game is just jumping from plant, to planet. any true mario player will know that mario games are about difficult platform jumping, and figuring out how to over come them.

While that's true, that's not the point behind LBP. If anything, it's nothing more than a virtual lego game. What's the point of legos if it's already done for you?

what . u are really hating on lbp

To hate on it means I would be bashing it straight up. I'm merely bringing up valid questions on the game since everybody seems so ready to praise it.

no u are hating . yet u praise smg and u know what about the game, that u jump from planet to planet every 2 secs

I can praise SMG because I know what a Mario game plays like. I can't mindlessly praise LBP because I haven't played it and what they shown has it's own set of problems.

Stop complaining about constructive criticism. I'm addressing things that are valid. If you want to walk around blindly ignoring potential problems with LBP, that's not my problem.

there was only 1 good 3d mario game and that was 10 years ago . so dont praise a game thats been good 1 out of 2 times .
