Super Smash Bros. Melee sold more than Devil May Cry 1,2,3...COMBINED!

After the amount of hate DMC3 about people not being good enough to make it past level 3, you honestly expect it to be a mainstream game that can compete sales wise with a game that contains just about every Nintendo franchise ever? Wow, just wow. No one ever thought DMC would have a real impact on the console wars, it's been made a big deal of simply because it's an insanely fun and challenging game. And how hypocritical can sheep get to stoop to comparing sales numbers? No, I never expected DMC 1,2,3 to beat SSBM in sales.  However, SSBM selling more than all of them combined made me LOL! However, the way cows have cried in threads about DMC4 going multiplat, I got the impression that cows thought this would greatly hurt the PS3 sales.  Heck, some cows even vowed never to buy a Capcom game again because they were so mad.  I'm just saying what comes around goes around.  Capcom is loyal to nobody.  Sheep already know this.  DMC4 going multiplat should have been a red flag to cows.  Capcom wants more money and the PS3 install base is...ummm....not great!

Wrong.  The Cube only had ONE game worth owning and it wasn't even made by Nintendo:  Resident Evil 4.  The Cube was garbage.

Why are cows so predictable?  I even had a section in my original post for "Cow excuses".  Very predictable that this would be one of them.  So, what are you saying cows?  That the almighty PS2 had such a huge library of games, that it is very difficult to have huge sellers?  How do you explain GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas then? 

Those games hit the weak point for massive damage in sales!  If you are going to say that SSBM sold on Gamecube because Gamecube had barely any good titles, then by your logic PS2 had such a humongous, gigantic library of great games that multi-million sellers were nearly impossible.  Gran Turismo anyone?  Final Fantasy anyone? 

Hello?  GTA sold well because of great single player, open world game.  SSBM sold well because it is a great party game.  If a game has certain qualities that many people like, it will sell no matter how small or big a game library is.  All the cow excuses are just baseless excuses.  Twilight Princess still sold more than EVERY DMC GAME with a 7.09 million install base! 

I said this somewhere in this thread...I made this thread because cows were bellyaching over DMC4 becoming multiplat.  I should have made this thread a lot earlier when this was going on.  Losing DMC4 is not going to cripple PS3 in any way.  PS3 is already crippled due to its price.  It is on a downward spiral...and I've heard this word often lately..."deathroll".  The stigma attached is that PS3 is expensive.  Gamecube couldn't even sell at $99 with a free game because it already had the "kiddy" stigma attached to it.  Losing DMC4 doesn't matter cows. 

I also made this thread because cows have made DMC franchise seem like an EXTREMELY POPULAR title.  Popular?  Yes.  Extremely popular?  No.  Halo, The Sims, SMB3, SSBM, Gran Turismo, GTA deserve the notion of extreme popularity.  But how popular is DMC franchise in actuality when PS2 has sold over 117 million?

believe in the dominance that is smash brothers. especially with Snake involved.

Swithin Halo with SSBM, MGS with DMC, and xbox with gamecube dosent make this thread any less stupid than your other 2 (or 3?) threads about this exact thing, or make you any less of a troll.

yeah, we know some games on other platforms outsold some games on ps2, good job bringing that up, whats your point? no matter how much you "mathematiclly "prove"" it, you dont know how much these games would have sold on ps2 (and it wouldent of been as much as you "prove").

beleive it or not, more sales means a more popular franchise, not a better attach rate, get over it.. and stop making this exact thread...

PS2s outsold GCs by more than 5.46 times.  Yet, SSBM outsells DMC1,2,3 COMBINED!  The funniest part of this ownage is Twilight Princess for Wii has already sold more than every DMC game. :lol:  Wii has an install base of 7.09 million right now compared to 117.89 million PS2s.  Yet, Wii has a game already that has beaten every DMC in sales. :lol:

TP is one of the worst selling Nintendo Zelda's ever in Japan...and it still has beaten all DMC game sales worldwide in 6 months time period.  Even Wii Play has sold more than every DMC game.  There are a few Mario Party games that have outsold all DMC games. 

Cows, you have been overhyping how popular this franchise is for years.  Yes, DMC franchise is popular, but it IS NOT NEARLY as popular as you have made it sound.  And BTW cows...do you really think DMC4 will sell a lot on PS3, seeing as the install base is going to be much nearly as high as PS2, and the game is now multiplat?

1. PS2 has so many great games and it is hard to have a franchise as popular as Halo and SSBM.

Yes, PS2 had a lot of great games.  There 117.89 million PS2s in homes.  If a PS2 game is great, cows will buy it.  GTA: San Andreas sold 14.88 million on PS2.

why dont you educate yourself before you post? Ninja Gaden+NG Black together sold 800K in US alone, and Ninja Gaiden alone is the 100th best selling game of  the US. So where the hell do you get your 500K worldwide from? outof your ass?
