The Witcher sold a million worldwide already. Your whole point is null.

This thread fails.
Nice, a single title has moved into the million seller mark on the PC side of things. A single title. So, is Crysis going to break a million sold worldwide before year's end?
I love how resting upon worldwide sales is the new damage control tactic. Naturally the Witcher was going to excel in the market is was designed for, and the market is was created in, Poland and the rest of Europe. But once again, it's a single title. Xbox 360 delivered numerous million sellers throughout this year and even recent title like Call of Duty 4 were propelled to amazingly high sales in a short period of time. So, after you're done falling back on The Witcher, care to discuss some other titles?TekkenMaster606

Have you ever played a RTS on a gamepad? It just doesn't work right. ThePlothole
Command and Conquer 3 played exceptionally well on the Xbox 360 pad and overall it's an experience comparable to the PC version. It scored 8.7 here after all.

But seriously, what good do the sales do to you, unless you're a stock owner nothing. 360 owners spend more cash on games.. Yay? :|

Because developers and publishers reward the machine that brings them the most revenue. Look at the Playstation 2 last generation. It was a goldmine for them and that userbase was rewarded with lead platform status across the board. Now that the hardware in this generation is more advanced co-developing PC and Xbox X360 side by side is becoming more common...
So in the end, the PC gamers are going to be stuck in a vicious cycle where they count on upcoming talent with new IPs to maintain the library because publishers will see the revenue generated from consoles. Irrational Games was known for their wonderful PC work. But considering that Bioshock was such a success, hermits might as well go on and accept the fact that future titles will be geared towards consoles and that PC versions will never live up to the technical standards it's capable of.

Yes, but assuming a 360 player and a PC player could play against each other.... Do you honestly think the 360 player would have a shadow of a chance?

Where does Far Cry 2 figure in that argument?

One thing you're wrong about, SC IS going to 360. It will probably suck and not get good sales because lemmings don't have the patience for that kind of game.

Personally I consider that a good thing, I'd rather take Stalker over CoD4 or Witcher over FFXIII. And that's pretty much always been the case with PC, it's just not as dependant on sales as other platforms. Pretty much every PC game that has sold decently and is capable of being ported control and hardware vise has also been ported because there isn't company like Sony or MS keeping them exclusive...yet it hasn't affected PC gaming from my pov much at all. We get new exclusive IPs from small developers, and if their game does well the next one will usually still be on PC even if the consoles get it too, on top of that we get ports ..I would say PC gets more or at least equal amount of ports from 360 as it gets from PC.And like you said, PS2 was very strong last gen, stronger than 360 will prolly ever be, yet PC gaming survived and grew. 360 might share the same architechture that PC which makes it more likely to be the lead plat over multiplat games, but since it's owned by MS whose success with Windows partly relies on PC gaming I think it's safe to say that MS will never try to harm PC gaming, meaning we get their exclusives now and in the future and PC versions will be fairly well ported most of the time. They might not take use of the latest tech like Crysis, but on the other hand they won't require that much either.

Also let's not forget WiC, which is being developed by a different developer and the so far there's been no news about the 360 version ever since the PC version was released. So you're looking at another future piece of crap right there.World in Conflict was never technically exclusive, but considering how hyped up the RTS genre is on PC most of us simply dismissed those types of games on console...And then Command and Conquer 3 launched on Xbox 360 with a bit of praise and it happened to move half a million units. Considering that World in Conflict is being re-engineered to cater to Xbox 360 gamers and is overall a better game I'm not surprised the publishers felt the need to boost their revenue by coming to us. True though isnt it? You cant deny that.
And yes, whoa ... 2 AA Games & 1 AAA .... now the other 50 AA Exclusives as apposed to the Xbox360's 9
What about those? oh right...
You do realize that digital downloads are not included in these sales numbers, right?
Also, the US=/=World. :|

These topics are just so sad.
I love it when the TCs of these kinds of topics try to play off hermits huge advantages like,
Here we go again, pathetic hermits falling back on their massive library of exclusive titles that outnumber all current gen consoles combined. Its getting old, hermits! PC is dying despite all evidence to the contrary, and sales make games fun!
Do you people live on a diet of bong water and paint chips or something?
The funny thing is PC has so many AA/AAA that, inspite of losing all games you mentioned, it still has a considrably large amount of AAAE/AAE(6 Vs 4 / 49 Vs 9) games left.froidnite
Yep, I cant see the idiotic logic that the PC is dying, maybe if it was 4th in games library or something ... then yea ... but its 1st ... it makes no sense O_o.

i dont see you defending it
but ehres a list
Total War, Settlers, Masters Of Orion, Galactic civlilization, gal. civ. 2, black and white, ceasar, _____ tycoon, sim _____, red orchestra, virtually every real sim and rts game ever to be made will never goto console, do the consoles have myth? sam and max? any adventure games? (and no, action adventure =/= adventure)
where was i....
dawn of war, company of heroes, the real version of civilization, true tactical games
and for PC exclusive games, that will be out in all of 2008, the current list of exclusives can be found here
last time i checked, the consoles dont have anything like that kind of line up

I think you guys are in denial, how can it possibly be good news that Bioshock sold more on the 360? And in a generation of the consoles and they all have stupid pointers like the Wii, how many RTS games will sell more on the Xbox then?
The death knell, no. Foreshadowing I think so.

First of all, there is no proof for your claim that X360 Bioshock sold more than PC bioshock, that is true only in US.I think you guys are in denial, how can it possibly be good news that Bioshock sold more on the 360? In August Bioshock PC was 77,374 and on the 360 it was 490,910. I still think you hermits are in denial. According to this link Bioshock was not even in the number 1 slot of 360 sales, yet it still dwarfed PC sales.
If I was a developer for the PC I would be looking at UT3s release 100k to Halo3s release 2 mil and forming a new strategy.
360 lose exclusives but pc loses also, i hate how hermits always use but its best on pc. I can careless at least i get to play your leftovers and enjoy it, so can the hermits, they enjoy our leftovers, we enjoy theres.TheJuiceyBar

Even the NPD showed Bioshock PC Version as the number 1 seller that knocked Halo 3 down to second place.
