I cant prefer one over the other. The best games I played were on both the console and the PC such as Starcraft, Final Fantasy 7, Gears of War, Unreal Tournament, Counterstrike, Zelda, Goldeneye 007, Natural Selection a Half Life mod and many more. I feel that gamers shouldnt restrict themselves to one over the other and if they do then they are probably missing out on something very special.
For me its the PC... but Console will win this poll (especially on System wars). The PC market is niche.rpg9000owner
That's why PC is winning? lol
Console...
PC is way to much work to keep up to date and a money pit.
Back in the day... My 586 lasted me 5 years with a RAM upgrade and 2 video card upgrades. Nothing like running a 400-500 MHz game on a 200 MHz Pentium with MMX and 128 MB of EDO RAM.
Built me a high end rig in 2001 didn't even last me 2 years and I needed a video upgrade. Then on top of that 3 and half years later it was worthless to run games on and still look good. I had 1.5 GB's of SDRAM in that bad boy too. In the Counter Strike survey I ranked in the top 1% with my PC.
PC's life these days just keep getting shorter. Not worth the money and time.

Spoken like a cheap mofo who couldn't keep up with technology so he buys inferior non upgradable consoles to play inferior graphics to save a buckÂ

Yeah, it must be a first.
[QUOTE="subrosian"]The only real genre we lack are...uhh...I guess JRPGs.Console for library building - I'm extremely prone to losing CD-keys, and I'm just generally bad at maintaining PC games, I only keep perhaps half a dozen games on my PC at a time. For example, right now I have Halo, Oblivion, Starcraft, Fear multiplayer, Sega Swirl, and Grid Wars.

There just aren't enough PC games out there I want in the genres I like, when I get an Xbox 360 I probably won't be getting a new PC game for a long time. I enjoy PCs for the hardware aspect, but just too many of my favorite games aren't on there.

[QUOTE="AdrianWerner"]PC easily. Next-gen consoles don't have anything I'm interested in aside from maybe LittleBigPlanet, while at the same time there's about 30 upcoming pcgames I want, so the choice is obvious for meturgore
I won't argue with your tastes but as a guess : do you like RTSs ?
Yes...RTSes, Turn-based strategy, economic sims, wargames, adventure, simulators, puzzle...all of those bassicaly Pc-only genres.Â
from racing I prefer racing sims(which are better on Pc), I prefer wRPGs((which are better on Pc) over jRPGs and I find FPSes unplayable on padsÂ

Oh yeah? Hmm Geforce Ti 4600 cost me $350 when it came out. Lasted me 1 Year and it broke. To bad the company went under because I had a life time warranty on it. So I was stuck with a broken card.
I had a Geforce Ti 500 before that. It broke a year later... So they gave me 2 Geforce Ti 4200 (in picture). One is still in my old computer stashed away.
I had a Geforce 2 Even before that. Which was sold long ago.

How many people do you know that buy new mother boards just for the new revisions? Cost me over $100 a pop.
I only ever bought the best.Â
You have been owned!
New revs? Nope.WhySoCry
Exactly... I was the uber hard core PC geek back then.
I still like PC gaming. But when it comes to costs, time and hassles... You can't beat a console.
I can't believe how much the pc is winning by. We have a lot more hermits here than I thought. Or at least, they aren't as talkative and annoying as the console fanboys... :lol:dgsagI'm suprised too. PC is winning WOOT!
[QUOTE="Danm_999"][QUOTE="Meu2k7"]-.- PC is a damn console! this comparison is ridiculous, a console doesnt mean a stand alone machine, even the handhelds are classified as freaking consoles.Meu2k7
Actually, aren't consoles technically PCs?
I guess, Xbox.com has PC as a console, so Im just meeting them halfway by sayinf theyre all alike.
Yeah consoles are just standardized simplified PCs in a box. They were unique platforms until Xbox set out to blend the 2 and essintially ruin both.
PCs are possible gaming platforms but its not standardized in any way like consoles.Â
