We're now in the last six hours of the nomination period. Nintendo became the first company to cross the 3000 points barrier. The top 5 seem to be pretty finalized at this point.

Nope. There was a reason I specified (and allowed for) separate voting for developers and publishers: you might love games certain developers (like say DICE) make, but might disagree with their parent publishers. Alternatively, maybe you don't like a single game that developers within a single company made, but you might like the policies of the publishing company itself, as well as its approach to gaming.
Anyway, the final tally is done. Everyone, welcome the finalists that will now duke it out in a thrilling face off:
1. Nintendo, with 3075 points 2. Sony, with 1875 points 3. Valve, with 1860 points 4. Rockstar, with 885 points 5. Blizzard, with 810 points
And let's have a look at the other five companies that round off our Top Ten. These ones don't make it into the final, but their strong performance still made them stand out:
6. Sega, with 740 points 7. Square Enix, with 600 points 8. Bioware, with 465 points 9. Bethesda, with 460 points 10. Bungie, with 325 points
A note about the final tallies:
* Nintendo ended up the clear, dominating winner, being 1200 points ahead of its nearest competitor * Sony overtook Valve at the last moment. It had been in third place, but it got one well placed first place vote, that put it 15 points ahead of Valve * Even though Sega had temporarily knocked it out of the Top 5, Blizzard managed to make it back in and stay there for the better part of the voting period.
