Not great. It might murder your eyes. Overall I think the technology just isn't that great though.

How are you enjoying Revelations?. I still need to get it.[QUOTE="mmmwksil"]You could ask me to do that for you :PSome times, I feel like playing Persona 3 again.
I never work up the energy to even get the game off the shelf.

Nah, maybe it's better I don't play the game again.
I think I've played enough of it to last a lifetime.
[QUOTE="shadowchronicle"]The day they release a new version of the DS without 3D is the day I'm going to purchase it.Yangire
Turning it off would be a good way to replicate that.
I could but I for one, don't think thats enough to convince me to purchase it. There are games on it that I want, but its almost the same thing as a DS. Nintendo could have easily fixed the wifi and the shop on the original ds. I'm still hesitant to purchase it because nintendo keeps on announcing new things that the newer handheld version of the 3DS will only be capable. For example, the lite version they say won't come out but I can guarentee you all they will have a lite released.[QUOTE="Yangire"][QUOTE="shadowchronicle"]The day they release a new version of the DS without 3D is the day I'm going to purchase it.shadowchronicle

There is nothing that could be altered about the 3DS design other than a second stick or shoulder buttons, unlike the original DS which had a lot of design problems. Plus Nintendo isn't expected to start gaining profit on 3DS till April. The revision is a long time off.

How are you enjoying Revelations?. I still need to get it.Every part with Jill was great, but it's felt like appetizers so far. It needs to get to the main dish otherwise it won't feel like a complete product. It briefly interrupted Jill's portion with a Chris portion that was basically RE4/shooter gameplay. Unfortunately, I've heard that this is what takkes up the bulk of the game later on. I hope that's wrong. Also, lol dialogue:
"Where are you?"
"A room, I think."

Who celebrated Pancake Day today?
I know it's an English holiday, but us 'murricans have a lot to thank them for.
One of those things being Pancake Day
lundy86_4
I'm English and live in Canada... We forgot :( We're celebrating tomorrow.
Isn't that worth like twelve years of bad luck, and a curse on your family?
I'm working on my DS library.
I had a DS fat on launch day, along with a DS Lite during its days, but strangely enough, it just so happened that I only got around to playing like 3 DS games.
Now that I got a 3DS, I have this huge DS library to discover, it's pretty overwhelming.
Just picked this up for $15 bucks at Best Buy.

You could've done better, methinks.
In terms of DQ games, that is.

Wouldn't know. We've missed it before but have yet to experience bad luck. We own our house mortgage free and I go to school yearly without having to rake in thousands of dallars worth of debt :P
Had breakfast for dinner tonight but I think I'll have some pancakes tomorrow morning. Did not know such a glorious holiday existed.

Yeah, I could have. It was an impulse buy, I only bought it because it was cheap. I was really only out to get gas, and I decided to stop by Best Buy. I even checked the score on Gamerankings on my phone while I was in there, to make sure it wasn't crap. For only $15 bucks, on top of the fact that I've never played a Dragon Quest game before, I figured, why the hell not.
I did get a pretty good game yesterday, though. I got a sealed copy of Zelda Spirit Tracks for $10 bucks.

Being your first DQ game, you might be pleasantly surprised.
In my case, the game had all 8 other DQ games before it, so my perception was colored. And not in the game's favor.
I give DQVI one thing: it's plot set up is delicious, and possibly my favorite one from the series. Despite the game being relatively low on my scale.

Oh God, Green Tea. Why are you so good?Valiant_RebelOh my god. I could drink 5 bajillion gallons of green tea.
It has occured to me that practically no one in SW gives a damn about fighting games. Just made a Street Fighter X Tekken hype/info thread an hour ago, and no one has posted yet.
Oh well.... glad I only typed 5% of it.

Probably because fighting games are hard as fvck, you people that play them, and more importantly, play them well are a special breed. Fighting enthusiasts are a rare find these days IMO.
Hell, I get wrecked just going online in MvC3.

Lol, I care about them, but I suck at fighting games, I really do.
I have VF5, SSF4AE, BBCT, BBCS, UMvC3, SSBB, T6 and a few other fighting games from past generations, and I've probably played a grand total of 1 hour across all of them.
Despite sucking and not playing them very much, I still like them a lot. I like the artwork and art styles, flashy moves etc.
I played a Vita when I was at Best Buy today.
It exceeded my expectations. I just played Uncharted, and it was like playing a PS3. The buttons are a bit small, and I was really surprised at how lightweight the system is.
More thoughts:
Somehow, the black background for the top screen makes the dual screen format less distracting on the 3DS. As for the 3D, I've decided to turn it off. It's interesting for a while, but more distracting than anything. The effect distorts what's furthest away from it and looks terrible in the FMV. That's right, there's a lot of FMV in this game and it either looks great or it looks very blotchy. That's because it uses a cartridge, which apparently isn't enough to stop the game from having 10 second load screens.

Well, I don't care about Street Fighter X Tekken, and I bet not many other people do.
But fighting games in general? I donno.

If you suck, but still enjoy the games, why not try to get better? I hate losing.
The competitive nature is what I like about fighting games. I try to have "fun" sometimes though, and pick characters that I'm unfamiliar with when I play against siblings and friends so they have a fair chance at winning. :P

Honestly, I'm just not the type of person that likes to work diligently in video games in order to get better. I'm kind of like, if I suck, I suck, and if I'm good, I'm good. I don't like playing online in fighting games, because it's obvious that the people I'm fighting have spent quite some time in the training rooms and / or fighting other people. The reason I buy fighting games is for the occassional co-op match against my friends who in turn also suck, so it is suck vs suck. That's when it is fun.
I know the games aren't very well liked around here, but I play Call of Duty MW3 and Battlefield 3 online, because I am just really good at those games right off the bat. They don't require any practice or anything. I can just not play them for months at a time, then fire it up, and go 22 and 3 in a match.
I have nothing against people who practice and train for fighting games, in fact I think it is pretty cool to see them play in tournaments and stuff, but it just isn't my thing.
Downloaded the demo for MGS on 3DS. Time to try this baby out. :]Stevo_the_gamer
I saw that game at the store today. I wanted to get it, but I decided to pass. I didn't even know it had released yet. I will probably wait for a deal or a price cut. I have been buying too many games lately and I feel like it is taking me over.
I wanna hear your impressions on the game. I haven't downloaded a demo since 2007 when I got my PS3. I don't like spoiling anything, lol.

EDIT: Derp, Nintendo Power gave it a 9, and EDGE gave it an 8. Damn good.

I'm one of the biggest Metal Gear Solid fans around, so it is already a must buy. I'm sort of curious on the 3D effect, the graphics overall, how the game controls without a 2nd analog, and that's pretty much it. I'm in no hurry to get the game, I will most likely be waiting for a price cut. Honestly, the only reason I have been buying games sooner than later recently is because Metroid Prime Trilogy scarred me. I passed it up one day, and I never saw it again.
