Watched LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring last night on Bluray. It was the extended edition, btw.

I never realized until now how absolutely incredible those films are especially considering Tolkien's trilogy was considered "unfilmable" for half a century. The films aren't just really good in technical aspects but damn near miracles.

If all goes well I'll watch Two Towers tonight. I'm excited because I haven't seen it in years.

The books are better, but the movies are very good. I was disappointed with the film difference between the books and the movies.

Great movies. I just watched the EE's on Blu-Ray a few months ago. Well worth the purchase.

The books are whatever, I'm not a fan. They read more like encylopedias of a fantasy world than an actual story. I can't get over the pacing in them either.

The films are better to me.

LOTR is one of those films that continues to surprise me every time I watch it. especially Fellowship of the Ring. It gives that genuine, classic sense of adventure that others can only imitate. They should attempt Silmarilion. Maybe as a TV series. That would make my life.

A problem that's been going on for a while that people on Facebook are "sharing and caring" about. It's a situation you would find better news on news sites rather than from most people on Facebook.

A guy made a really well done 30 minute video/pseudo-documentary on it, and the Kony 2012 campaign was launched. Honestly though, I'm as baffled as you are. I do like people going for the humane part of this, but by now, we should be seeing our actions on our news feed, not our opinions on it.

Sorry, I'm a little lazy. :P "Joseph Kony (born 18 September 1964[4] in Odek, Uganda) is a Ugandan guerrilla group leader, head of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), a group engaged in a violent campaign to establish theocratic government based on the Ten Commandments throughout Uganda. The LRA say that spirits have been sent to communicate this mission directly to Kony. Directed by Kony, the LRA has earned a reputation for its actions against the people of several countries, including northern Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan and Sudan. It has abducted and forced an estimated 66,000 children to fight for them, and has also forced the internal displacement of over 2,000,000 people since its rebellion began in 1986. As a result, in 2005 Kony was indicted for war crimes by the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands, but has evaded capture since."

Well you remember the arbitor fiasco here a few months ago? Lol it was hilarious but that's not the point. I think something like that happened at Reddit except they actually e-mailed the photoshopped pictures to just about everyone on the website, the people in real life, a bunch of other people as well. Just real mean sh!t.

It's damn awful. My buddy goes there all the time and always complains about it lol.

Technically it is a trilogy. FOTR, TT, ROTK all released separately at first. But I get what you are saying. But in your case, IIRC, it's more of a novel with 6 books, not 3.

That came directly from the Forward to the 2nd edition: "The Lord of the Rings is often errroneously called a trilogy when it is in fact a single novel , consisting of 6 books sometimes published in 3 editions." (You're right onv the 6 books)

Tried the demo, found it to be a bit boring and hard.

WH40K? I have no interest in Dawn of War or Space Marine (didn't like the demo). But the lore on Wikia is supremely fascinating.

Outside of the Metroid prime trilogy i can't remember a game where i enjoyed the lore. l;

I'm not sure if we can categorize 40K as a video game. I guess it is a game.... but its lore is almost central to its existence. Kinda like D&D.

WH40K lore is awesome. I've spent hours upon hours scouring the wiki. You should check out Dawn of War + Expansions and Dawn of War II + Expansions. They're really great games especially if you like the lore. Nothing like a Dreadnaught ripping apart and Ork while your Space Marines chainsaw some Tyranids.
