Damn, PS4 is the global leader and sells vastly more than Nintendo worldwide. Then the rabid Nintendo fanboys clinch to anything to downplay it, what a bunch of losers. Always find it difficult to know who is worse, Xbox or Nintendo fans, both fucking deluded, it's also funny how the Nintendo fans live up to the stereotype that Nintendo is for kids, they sure act like them.

You've already been proven wrong; you just aren't able accept it until you actually see them announce that it's past your prediction. Successful systems never peak in year one unless something crazy happens, like a massive price cut. You're prediction is completely against the odds. Smart bets are on it peaking in year 2 or 3. PS4 has possibly peaked in year 4 (despite your claims that it being 4 years old means that Switch should have definitely done better than it last year if it were going to be a hit). Switch sales dropping 50-75% from year 1 to year 2 would be completely unheard of.

Indzman is the main one trying to put down one system for another here. There's not much downplaying of PS4 going on.

Your prediction isn't based in reality as it requires sales to drop in a way that this industry has never seen. There has never been a successful console or handheld which sold half of its lifetime total in 13 months, which is exactly what needs to happen for you to be correct because Switch will be at 17 million sold after 13 months. Your prediction is EXTREMELY unlikely, but you're too proud to admit it. If you really want to stick to it, go ahead. However, I'll mock you at every turn once it passes 35 million in 2019 (which it will). Your understanding of the market is poor, and you're a terrible analyst. Assuming that it's at around 13 million right now (it's over 8 million between Japan and US alone confirmed, so that's an extremely conservative estimate) and 4 more years on the market, your prediction requires the next 4 years to average 5.25 million worldwide; it's gonna sell around that this year in Japan alone if Pokemon launches this year, and even without Pokemon it'll easily break 4 million because it's the only truly viable platform there. "Buh smartphones" isn't an informed analysis and it will backfire. I'll never let you live it down either.

About 5 million in the US, 3 million in Japan, but at least 13 million overall. Almost 40% of its sales come outside of those two countries. I don't think you know how numbers work.

PS4 has been out since 2013, that's 4 full years. They JUST crossed 70 million. That's an average of 17.5 million not 20. Still impressive, and the PS4 is undeniably the number one console, in regards to sales, but don't make up facts.

The Switch is a Nintendo/Indie beast and at the rate that things are going Indie developers who are loving the Switch are starting to make games that are way better than the AAA lootbox garbage that is coming from big budget studios anyway.

Good job to Sony for doing so well this generation, but adults, NOT CHILDREN, know what's up when it comes to videogames. Multiple consoles > Blindly pledging allegiance to one company.

I called it a few months ago. It looks like my prediction that it could end up selling over 100 million is becoming increasingly likely.

It's worth noting that the Switch is outpacing the PS4's first-year sales. Nintendo is expecting the Switch to sell 17 million in its first year.

It's also worth noting that, for any successful console, the sales pace usually picks up after the first year. Which means the Switch's sales pace should also pick up after its first year. Nintendo is expecting the Switch to sell over 20 million units in its second year.

@sHaDyCuBe321: I’m talking about recently not the entire PS4 lifespan. They’ve been growing steadily with sales every year that they are at a point they sell 20 million a year on average. For the past 2 years now Sony has sold over 20 million PS4s a year. This year they might even sell 21 million or more with all the heavy hitters they have lined up. Sony’s PS4 sales are growing at a steady pace and not decreasing over time like you’d expect like previous consoles.

Total derailment from a number of users. Too many posts meant to antagonize, victimize, whatever. You may think you are the one in the right on this, but there are a number of posts and users that are the problem here.

Any of you have an issue with how a user is treating you? Flag a post and move on, message a moderator if you feel it's necessary. Don't make threats of retaliation. Don't snipe back at others trying to get the last word in. Don't think you have control over others and how they talk to you.
