@carljohnsoncj: 95% of those games do nothing for me. I cannot believe how people would subject themselves to shitty side scrollers and kiddie rehashes when they could be playing games like GOW, RDR2, FH4...
Nintendo games are the best for any age from 12 year old to 40 year olds in my opinion. GOW,RDR 2,FH 4 gets boring after a while.
Yep, yep. Great system and great games. It’s just going to keep getting better when Super Smash Bros. Ultimate comes out in a few weeks. Then Bayonetta 3, Metroid Prime 4, Fire Emblem, mainline Pokémon game, Animal Crossing, etc. come out next year. Very good times indeed. I’m hyped.

Fun games, or open world collectaphons with more walking and talking than gameplay
HARD CHOICE
Switch is great but I'm not blind, the PS4 is the best all around console you can get. The Switch is good as a secondary or if you like Nintendo or indie games.
I'm a fan of the Switch, because it caters to a market that I am definitely not part of.
made the decision to not buy it an easy one
Since Sony wants to censor their games on PS4 now, Nintendo has an open mind not making the same mistake on the Switch, so yeah, Nintendo not only is getting great games this gen, they aren't censoring their games as heavy as Sony is. So yeah, the Switch is really the best purchase for me because I can play those home console games on the go now. I been satiated with my Switch :)
Yeah, I just don't get it. Besides a sort of good Zelda game and a good Mario game, I'm not seeing the allure of the Switch. What's really there that I can't get anywhere else on a more technically competent machine for less money? It just doesn't add up.
Honestly, I feel the same way about the PS4. The majority of their games play better on the PC, and the only exclusives that I spent any significant time on were Bloodborne and Persona 5. Nothing else has really blown me away (and even Bloodborne felt a bit rushed/lite compared to other Souls games).
As for the Switch, it has a rapidly growing number of great exclusives, tons of excellent indie ports, and portable versions of games like Rocket League and Civilisation 6. That's enough for it to become my primary platform - more convenient than my PC or laptop, and more interesting games than my PS4.
*edit* Oh, and the multiplayer is fantastic. I cannot emphasise enough how great it is to be able to play Mario Kart (and soon, Smash Bros) with a big group of people on lunch breaks at work.
Posting this through yet another Nintendo sponsored game drought. How bitter those tears must taste for Switch only owners.
Super Mario Odyssey
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Splatoon 2
Super Bomberman R
That is my current collection. I am interested in Octopath Traveler and Super Smash Bros Ultimate. I would maybe buy Kirby Star Allies but I haven't heard too many things about it and it's definitely not worth $60 to me.

Xeno 2 and Pokemon Let's Go are also solid additions. I stopped playing Octopath, and I need to jump back in, but it's an excellent game.

Thinking about asking for Pikachu for Christmas. I just hate how I can't use my pro controller. I would rather not play with the joycons or motion controls.
I have Xenoblade Chronicles X for my Wii U and never finished it

Yeah, the controls are really basic for Pokemon. You actually only use one Joycon, as opposed to both, but it's not a game that typically needs to utilize a plethora of buttons. All-in-all, the nostalgia is great in the game, and it holds up well to more modern standards.
I was the same with X, but I enjoyed Xeno 2 more. X seemed less hands-on and personal in terms of story, but Xeno 2 is far more fleshed out in terms of a JRPG.

yeah i'm just afraid i'll get bored with pokemon. and i dont know if i'll be able to get into XC2.

I wouldn't recommend Star Allies. Its the one Switch game purchase I regret, wish I could get a refund. With always having three NPCs with you the game feels like it plays itself, and this is coming from someone who really loves Kirby games.
The one game that is interesting is to me is pokemon let's go.
these games are either indie games, port games or nostalgia games. Nostalgia games probably account for half the games.

Omg Yeah I can't wait for Smash, that pre-load icon on my Switch is just so hard to look at. Super interested in Fire Emblem as well.
Right now I don't have the time for another home console, however I consider the Switch the best portable gaming device on the market and I'm very close to getting one soon for that purpose. I can't stand gaming on mobile, that's not an option for me although I have nothing against people who do that, I just prefer to leave my smartphone for just surfing the web and phone calls/text, picture messages, etc.
It's still missing some AAA third party games, but it has a damn good library so far. My favorite games on the Switch are Super Mario Odyssey, Doom, Resident Evil Revelations 2, Pokemon Let's Go Eevee, Mega Man X Legacy Collection, Breath of the Wild, Wolfenstein II, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.
Seriously. Too many good games coming out every week. I am still shocked each day I check the online store. Such a great console with so many great games to play and its barely a year and a half old. Very satisfied with my purchase.
I own all of the consoles, and Switch is by far my favorite of the three. I just love the portability.
It does have quite a library, way better than Wii U ever had as far as 3rd party. However, most that stuff you can get anywhere else. There is quite a few games released on just Switch/PS4, and some like that but with PC as well. I just rather opt for PC for anything, and if Switch was even nice, in any way, I wouldn't mind several games on it, but the experience just isn't nice. Like I'd love DQB2 on Switch, but I'll opt for any other platform.
Is this a joke thread? Switch misses all the big AAA games from third parties and the ones it does get are 240p, sub 30fps piles of trash.
Its hilarious how much standards have fallen, that Switch library is a joke.
Nothing but ports of games that came out years before it, indies, and like 2-3 actual exclusives.
The Switch is pretty much a waste of money and is surviving off filling its eshop with bloat to give the illusion of "more".
Quantity vs quality and the latter is not in the Switch's favor.

I played the demo of Kirby. It plays it self and is a lot like the NES version. I didn't like it at all.
Lol what games ? just some childish and colorful games and the worst ports of 3rd party games.(If they get any)
Nintendo is a joke. None of their main consoles had any GTA game at all.
It's been pretty good so far. Needs more heavy hitters to achieve greatness. Especially now that they fucked up their online and virtual console. Right now the Switch only has a few good first party games and a handful of great indie games.
To call the Switch amazing, it would need something like:
A great Mario game - Check!
A great Zelda game - Check!
A 'NEW' New Super Mario Bros. game - Still waiting, no signs of it coming
A Metroid game - Still waiting
A 'NEW' Mario Kart game - Still waiting, no signs of it coming
An Animal Crossing - Still waiting
An F-Zero game - Still waiting, no signs of it coming
Great indie games - Check!
A Pikmin game - Still waiting, no signs of it coming
A Smash Bros. game - Coming soon
Virtual console - Confirmed not coming
Those are just off the top of my head, but those would be a great start. Sad to say, but I doubt we'll get these things. I've no hope left for F-Zero, which is probably what I want the most on my list above.
-Gets an untouched port of a 360/PS3 game long after the PS4/Bone got a full remaster.
-Claims the switch has all the best games this gen.
lmao sheep.
The Switch's portability makes it a really desirable choice for me to play games on. The problem? There aren't many games. I'm a fan of Nintendo first party titles, and the only actually good first party exclusive (that means, excluding BoTW, which is not an exclusive) of the franchises I'm interested in has been Super Mario Odyssey.
Next year looks potentially promising with Animal Crossing and Pokemon, but 2018 has been such a bad year aside from Ultimate.
@n64dd: yeah! Can't complain about 30 bucks for this one
I chose between that and stick of truth. I haven't finished fractured but whole yet though, and valkryia is one of my favorite series of all time. black friday type sales are ridiculously good this year.
