Gametrailers was always a garbage website. The few brightspots were a decent site layout, retrospectives, and some of the fresher video content they had in a pre-youtube era. Now they are wildly outclassed at all that stuff, and what you have left is a website that

-Constantly has this "if it's not broke, we gotta try to fix it" approach to their own layout
-A review scale that is absolutely dreadful: the **** is the real difference between a 9.4 and 9.2, and component scores? **** off
-A bunch of shmucks and Kyle Bosman here and there to do a cool video.

Their old shmucks? Shane Satterfield who couldn't grasp what a RPG was, who didn't really get why RE6 was being blasted, who some how led as a EiC that wanted a review scale that punished derivative ideas, and then proceeded to basically have the 8-10 scale for most modern triple A games, oh and added bonus Marcus Beer in his "I'm grumpy, that's my routine" goes on the most unprofessional rant to hate on Phil Fish (who is an easy target, so how do you even **** that up?) as if he was some top notch journalist, and he was really an ass clown whose expertise was entirely being a PR douche bag. Oh and that's without getting into subjective territory like "their taste sucks"

Just finished Telltale's Game of Thrones. What fucking bullshit.

Enjoy losing harder than the last TV season of Game of Thrones in this lose-lose simulator where you're presented choices that dont even matter.

6 episodes of odd plotting, shoe-ins from voice talents, some of the more annoying QTEs Telltale has made and it ends with "to be continued".

It was simply brilliant.

One Punch anime recent episode was also pretty amazing and later today i believe its the season finale for the Walking Dead

Back in the good old days of Pokemon Yellow, I evolve my Pikachu into a Raichu and the best part was, I teach my Pikachu Surf before evolving it. The trainers who was using Ground type Pokemon were in for a big surprise :P

It's based on property that isn't that good at actually conveying a plot, you expected too much.

Surges gym in gym leader castle had a raichu like that, wrecked my all rock team :P

I liked it too. Same goes with Xenoblade: Chronicles.

They do share stumbles and issues of their own. But my biggest gripes with both games are quite similar - Yet one is praised as one of the best JRPGs of the last decade and the other is heavily scrutinized because it's cool to hate BioWare.

Is it actually great or is it "video game" great? Answer this question honestly now illmatic, search your heart, the truth will be there.

This is understandable, their is pretty large age gap and the teen the talk isn't exactly my cup of tea. The Rock, Paper Shotgun board would probably be more suitable.

It's the greatest game that starts with the word 'Tales'. As something that wanted to present structured comedy in a game? Yeah, Tales from the Borderlands is great.

It doesnt break away from the light adventure elements or QTEs that are known in Telltale games since Walking Dead. But when it comes to the dialogue choice stuff, the Telltale formula just worked so well for structured comedy. Instead of having choices/dialogue revolving around mostly tense but inconsequential GoT/Walking Dead bullshit. Tales from the Borderlands instead opted to allow you the opportunity to set the comedic tone and delivery of humor that you wanted for the next scene. I think people like picking the funny/stupid option or at least, are tempted to in games with dialogue trees. Tales from the Borderlands is a game that is just filled with that.

I find it tricky to critique comedy because it's either a hit or miss for me, but I can at least credit that the comedy excels due to the quality of its delivery and timing within the context of good plotting and writing. To top it off, It's wrapped in a memorable adventure that does not shy away from the fact that the property was based on a videogame that doesnt take itself seriously.

And I dont even like Borderlands. But I thoroughly enjoyed The Telltale Adventure.

My personal Game of The Year is Tales of Zestiria, brilliant game, great characters, breathtaking soundtrack and probably one of the saddest endings of any Tales game.

just beat the game 10/10, next up the continuation dlc!

Yeah, you can't evolve, trade, release, or box the Pika you get.

Alisha is also my favorite heroine and the continuation dlc is sure giving me a loot of alisha! :P... the dlc is 3 months after beating the main so its so good to get more of this masterpiece of a game

That's the main thing that bugged me about the game, I get that they want to make you feel like you're Ash from the anime with Pikachu but then again, it's my video game and I should have the right to evolve, trade, or whatever.

Though, it is pretty neat that you can get all the 3 starter Pokemon.

The Pokemon anime is fucking shit and Ash a fucking pussy.

The anime used to be awesome back in the day, Season 3 is when it went downhill.

And there's a Pikachu like that in the newer games too, I think OR/AS have her, the Cosplaying Pikachu. You can't trade or evolve her, though you can box her.

Somewhat disappointing Last Kingdom finally, an understandable issue when trying to bookend a novel into a tight 40-50 minutes television format.

Yeah, apparently the WiiU/3DS version is a piece of shit, wile the Wii version is a genuinely interesting experience with cool mechanics that are intricate enough that you will need to learn to actually be good at.

Best episode is when Ash "saves" Charizard when he was frozen. Is that still one of the first two seasons? Suddenly Charizard started listening to Ash, and then for some reason Ash left him with his own kind. Which was lame, because Charizard was the coolest pokemon in Ash's repertoire.

Yeah, that was the end of Season 2, actually. I really liked that one, and I also liked Charizard versus Magmar, as well as the Orange League episodes. Then there was Pidgeot versus Charizard, and a few of the Pikachu centric ones I used to like.

@charizard1605: so i have this itch to play Wind Waker, and it won't go away. It's driving me crazy because i'm not a fan of Zelda. I've tried most of them and they bored the hell out of me due to the.. blandness of it all. Skyward Sword was pretty nice at engaging my attention, but unfortunately the controls annoyed me, especially during boss fights. So how is Wind Waker in your opinion? :)

It's the easiest one to get into, but it suffers from pacing issues in the late game, and generally poorer dungeons than the rest of the series.

I'd say giving it a shot won't hurt, you'll know within an hour or so of playing whether or not you want to go through with it.

Also, regardless of whether or not you try and/or like Wind Waker, I will recommend A Link to the Past and A Link Between Worlds.

Wind Waker is awesome. Definitely play it.

Play WWHD if you can, not only is it amazing visually but sailing is twice as fast and they made the last quest a lot less painful.

It's all a marketing strategy for people to get inspired to become better trainers than him and buy Pokemon games. :)
