But like I said, I do remember the most memorable games from years back, but I can't remember every single title I played from generations back. I didn't play this Persona series I hear makes gamers drool, nor Vampire the Masquerade or Baldur's Gate 2 (my PCs were never what you'd call gaming adequate). Admittedly most of my JRPGs are from earlier years in the 2D pixelated days. But how many Japanese made contemporary RPGs incorporated player choice and interaction, before Demon's Souls?

But hey, I did play Final Fantasy chapters. Secret of Mana, and Illusion of Gaia. Isn't that turn based, menu combat enough for the lot of you? ;) :P

Say what you want about arc rise fantasia as a game but the soundtrack was ridiculously good.
