I might be gettin into the spirit of the lounge ;)

[spoiler] yeah yeah, I know the pokemon "level up" in their own fashion, but the game still has this emphasis on creature collecting and using them as proxies for kids to 'battle' each other, moreso than personal character development and world interaction. Like other JRPGs, there's the stat based mechanics, but not the player interactive role playing. But honestly I really can't get into the "anime zoo" setting [/spoiler]

Adobe mention most of action games as RPG. and Im not even RPG player. SNIPER4321

You can have role playing with action designed combat. Hence the Action RPG subset.
