I just suggest in the future, if you ever want to buy any other old games from Steam (pre-2005/2006), to check out if they're buggy or broken. I've been burned a few times with old games that won't play sound, or have graphical defects, and sometimes the only problem is that they're running through Steam.

VtMB, however, is broken simply because it released buggy, the developer shut down, and it never got supported.

GOG is the place to go for older PC titles since they don't just put old games up for sale, but actually get them working with Windows 7, and support them with updates as well.
